Sat/Sun 24th/25th July - What small DFW things have you done today??!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important
:D
Hi everyone  thought someone should start us off on this gorious sunny Saturday
So I just received my companies structure chart and I am definately either the managert or asst manager. Thank god was really nervous because there is 1 manager from another team who is displaced and I was nervous that there was a chance I'd be competing for that. Like Jo said yesterday its a weird thing because I'm so relieved I'm not out of a job but feel a bit guilty for thinking that...

Morning Determined - thanks for starting us off.
Had a bit of a mini drama last night - all the power to the sockets went off and the alarm started going bonkers - it turns out after much investigation and faffing (and a midnight call to FIL) that the fridge has died. The fuse has been changed but its not having any of it - it keeps tripping out the whole house. Poo!
So today will be spent sorting that out - hopefully it can be fixed if not its a new one:eek:. The only bright side is that there's not too much left in it as we're coming up to shopping day so not too much waste.
Other than that...- Walk dogs for free exercise - already been to the park for a good run around
- Hoover downstairs (again!)
- Clean conservatory
- One load of washing and dry naturally
- Phone mum using free land line to arrange pick up of sister and drop off of dog
- Sand down manky woodwork in en suite bathroom ready to paint
- All food from stores
- Drop OH off at tram station for his mates stag night:eek:
- Look at paint charts to pick a colour for the hall and stairs
- Clean kitchen thoroughly and behind the fridge (disgraceful!)
- Maybe tidy out one or two kitchen cupboards
- Investigate new fridge prices:mad:
- Stay in tonight and wait for OH to roll in worse for wear
- Check banks
- Do any surveys that come

- Daily Cards
- Hoping for NSD!0 -
Morning everyone,
It's looking like another nice day :j so think we'll go to a park or maybe a long walk with the dog today. Tried my HM bread this morning... from the breadmaker I got from my mum in law as she doesn't use it
. It was ace!!! The only thing is the slices are a bit thick so the loaf won't last very long, think thinner slices will come with practice though I'm hoping. Was so excited yesterday - is that sad?
My list for the weekend: -- couple of loads of washing and line dry
- need to do ironing for next week - back to work on Monday after 2 weeks off

- make HM pizza for tea (have a go at pizza dough in BM)
- tidy house
- check surveys
- check on-line banking and July spend spreadsheet (pay day a week on Thursday)
- have NSD today and tomorrow
- make HM bread

FYI everyone am going to be making loads of posts over the next couple of weeks to get up to my next star! Sorry if I become tedious I will relent after I get it!

Bum!
Fridge is officially dead - have just ordered a new one that's due to be delivered on Weds - not sure how we'll cope until then without one.
Thought about borrowing my mum's coolbox (we still have a freezer to make the ice packs with) for milk and the essentials - might be better than nothing?
On the plus side - there's no point in going shopping until we have a fridge so we'll have to live off what we have until then - the freezer is packed and the odd bit of veg will be ok out of the fridge.
I suppose people used to live without fridges so it can't be that hard surely?????!!:o0 -
ah the wonders of modern life rachel! You can easily survive till wed, cool box is instead an ingenious solution! also do you have longlife milk? Lasts longer and we leave our out of the fridge all the time! (yay up to 600 posts only 150 to go!!!)DF as at 30/12/16

Hiya, my sister didn't have a fridge for a while - she kept her milk in a bucket of cold water, used water tight tubs for cheese etc... might be easier using a coolbox though if you have that option.New starting debt 30/12/2018 £30,164.76:eek:
