i would say anyone who has XP stick with XP, its a lot less of a resource hog than vista or 7 and things work, but then again i said exactly the same when 2000 was being phased out and XP was being pushed, and yet somehow ive got a laptop with 7 on it0

I never got involved with Vista, but jumped to Win 7 64bit, and like it.
It's been reliable, printer problems were sorted by letting Windows Update install drivers, Canon and HP didn't have any drivers at all for my 2 elderly printers.
The main point was for those missing the XP type start menu, I was directed to Classic Start Menu, this reverts Vista and Win7 start menus to a XP type, also reducing the number of clicks required to get to a program.
Customisable, and easy to revert to the standard set up.Move along, nothing to see.0 -

If you want the same look as previous OS's, simply change from Category View to Icon View.Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0 -

LOL, talking about 'improvement'...Office 2010 vs. 2003! What a shambles trying to find anything on the stupid ribbon. :mad:0

lol i had no need for the ribbon in office as i already used the alt + whatever shortcuts that microsoft is trying to push on its office users and have been using since office 97...
i honselty havent seen any change in 2010 thats worth shouting about... other than the loading gui moves... oooooh
I think microsoft have finally cottoned on that if it looks shiny and brilliant people will be all... ooooooh and aaaaaaah, and can then knock them over with the extortionate price :P0 -

For me Windows 7 is great, but does require a while to get used to.
Snap is fantastic, maybe only if you have a big monitor though and it depends on what work you are doing. But for me (I have a lot of emails, press releases and reviewer articles sent to me for my website open at once) it is probably the best improvement from MS.
The control panel I prefer the new layout. I work in support so deal with Windows machines a lot and whenever I use a machine with classic view, I have to switch it. I can't find anything on classic anymore as I'm so used to the new view.
But it's all about preference. To me, Vista wasn't as bad as everyone made out. Yes slower but there were ways to get around that. 7 though I think is probably the best OS from MS in a long long time. Certainly better than XP.0 -
