Molly - really glad that the party went well. You'll be tired out after it - lack of sleep and just tiredness generally makes you feel hungover. These young ones with their plump livers will be fine!

Csarina - the sea is so unpredictable. Glad that all is well - hope you had some brandy too!

Been out to L$dl this morning. They have lovely Savoy cabbages for 38p this week. I hunted about for a nice heavy one. They also had delicious vine tomatoes - huge and they smell gorgeous. i got 5 for 80p. Their red peppers are still 39p and some big ones in there. They have Ainsley Harriett couscous packs for 49p so i got a couple for the cupboard. They also have quorn mince for £1 so I'll head out for some packs so I can take them straight home, if that makes sense.

DH has been busy taking the skirting boards off the livingroom. He has new ones which he has been painting, so they will be ready to go on tomorrow I think. The room is looking much fresher.

I've been sorting out old magazines and cutting out recipes. I've had a bit of a clear out with old papers as DH moved the bookcase so it prompted me to have a go at sorting old stuff.

Ok that's it for now. Popped back in to see how you are all doing :)

csarina you must have been terrified, but don't let it put you off of the shore. When I was a wee girl my parents used to cart us all up to relatives in Brechin on the north east coast of Scotland for holidays .You had to be made of strong stuff to go in the sea in Montrose. My Dad used to say it was fine and it had never hurt him when he was little .Maybe so but it was always freezing cold no matter how warm the day.I would dip my toes in then leg it.I had a small ruched swimming costume that was light blue ,at times you couldn't see where the cossie ended and the little girl began as I always went as blue as my cossie :):):)Still it was a holiday I suppose and beggers couldn't be choosers in those days .
Its been a good day today Ben (14)my DDGS has been toiling away painting for me today and I think he made a great job as well. The bannister rail has been sanded and varnished that leads down to the garden and he tidied up all the weeds and we did a run to the tip to get rid of 8 bags of garden rubbish which he loaded and unloaded for me bless him.He also painted the bottom of my front wall for me and its looking really smart now I have given him a treat of some cash as I know he wants to go out with his pals next week to the cinema .I took the little ones to the library this afternoon and they are quite happy as they managed to get the books they wanted .I am now going to have a sit down and watch some rubbish t.v. and do a bit of knitting.
    have a good weekend everyone

    Afternoon All :hello:

:bdaycake: H-J - hope you have had a good one, and that DH & the twins have spoilt you rotten, not forgetting DSis.

Csarina - bet you aged too, glad everyone is OK.

Today have done a load of washing and caught up with all the ironing (with a little help from DH:A)

Forgot we were going out last night to eat with friends, so the chicken is on for today now:o. Just popped in in on the microwave combi auto program, and giving off a great smell, as I sprinkle with olive oil and then the coating for chicken mix you get out here.

DNeighbour is out of hospital but was recommended not to go home yesterday, so she has rebooked for next Saturday, had to wait until Ryanair had a flight with assistance available. She is in good spirits but obviously kicking herself.

    Having a quiet night tonight.

    Take care - DG

Have come in the kitchen to hide and chill for a wee while. The boys have friends in, and they are having a World Cup tournament on the PS3. The noise is incredible, just as well we are the end terrace. They are having a great time but my head is bursting with the noise in the livingroom (big TV).

I had a slow start to the day, a friend was having a bit of a crisis and I spent some time helping her through that until lunchtime, then went to Homebase for my light. I was not happy, they sold it to someone else! It was the last one available in the company apparently, too. But the bright side is they will give me the display one at a "greatly reduced price" when it gets taken down and P.A.T. tested, which shoule be 3-4 weeks. They have noted it down, and there is a sticker on it with my name, so hopefully they won't forget me, it won't be much of a hardship to wait a few weeks, as OH will need to find me an electrician anyway, or put it up for me.

Lunch for the boys was a Burger King, huge treat, and they treat it as such and were very grateful.:A We will be off to Tesco soon for the dog's chicken and some nuts to make peanut butter and coconut to make Granola, I am getting a bit bored of porridge and fancy granola and yoghurt and fruit tomorrow. Tonight will be more painting or fixing some curtains, we'll see.

Hope you are all well, and have a lovely evening.

Afternoon or is it Good Evening?!

Anyway feel dog tired. Went for a nap earlier but DS came up shouting to wake me up <rollseyes>
H had to take his scooter to be fixed and as its still under warranty we had to traipse to the other side of Brum to where he bought it from. then took the kids to Wasely Hills where we spent a couple of hours playing. Fortunately bike fixed by 11am so came back earlier than planned but took ages due to weekend traffic. Anyway have done no OS bar a packed lunch :o

Having hot dogs for tea (well sausages in buns rather than those revolting herta hot dogs) as I can't be bothered to cook :o

Off swimming tomorrow and H's brother is supposed to be coming up to visit tomorrow so no doubt even less OS will happen.

Csarina - Glad to see the grandchildren are OK xxx What a fright for you xx

Haribo - Happy birthday :D Hope you've been spoilt rotten

Better go and check tea. Have a good evening all.

Thankfully both grandchildren were ok, we went to North Berwick this afternoon. We walked down the main street and then back through the harbour, sat a while watchiing the sea and then started for home, we stopped and watched some of the display from the air show at East Fortune, both children have cleared their plates, sausage casserole, potato, peas and carrots. Vienetta and cream.

I am shattered, OH is washing up, A is straightening his hair, irs naturally very curly, like his Dads, he hates it his sister wishes she has it!!!! she would love curly hair.

Tomorrow we are going to the Sunday market and then on the the museum of flight, so a packed lunch and a couple of flasks with us me thinks.

Monday OH s putting us on the train at Drem and we are going into Edinburgh, for some retail therapy and a look at some of the sights.

Tuesday they go back home.........and I have a few weeks before the next lot of visitors come, but the fire place will be coming out, so no rest for the wicked!!!
