Hi I'm looking for reviews on any of morrisons value range products (non-grocery). In particular, their washing powder as it's only £1 something compared to "branded" washing powder for at least £4

Their toilet roll is only £1.30 ish. People say it's a false economy, but our 5 year old and our teenager will throw it down the pan at the same rate whatever it costs.
Their 3 roll kitchen towel also does us about 2 weeks (6 of us) and their 25p boxes of hankies have been handy in times of runny noses and colds.
I also like their cleaner sprays (bathroom, kitchen, anti-bacterial, surface cleaner) and use their 55p washing up liquid (the 35p stuff they done wasnt very good).
As far as washing powder or liquid goes, for some reason we always stick to branded. Whatevers £2 ish for 20 washes or £4 for 42. We buy it wherever we see it and normally stock up.0 -
i have used it an i do like it i normaly buy what is on offer but if there is nothing i will buy there own also the fabfic conditioner i buy the white one
the cheap orange juice is nice as well
the tinned stuff is ok for putting in casseroles i use he beans for my sausage caserole and the tomatoes
i think its mostly trial and error some people like an some dont0 -
The washing liquid comes in two types, i think they've steered away from the value range on that one. Anyway, the 33p one (used to be 16p only a year or two back!) is absolutely useless, the slightly more expensive one is fine but doesn't come in a big enough bottle to beat the prices of the 2 for a pound bigger bottles at the discount stores.
The cloths are amazing in the value packs compared to the 'standard' ones - up until a year ago it was impossible to tell the difference, although the standard ones appear to be pink now rather than blue, they obviously didn't sell any of the 'standard' at 3-4 times the price when they looked identical.
The apple juice is the best you can get in the UK IMO, but beware the very similarly packaged 'apple juice drink' which is watered down pish, altho I spose drinks count as grocery.0 -
Thank you. I'm going to try the washing liquid. I already use the toilet roll. There is nothing wrong with it at all!0

Their Licorice Allsorts are nice(about 38p I think for 150g bag).0

I love morrisons - in my mind its the best shop. The value items i buy can change depending if it works out cheaper to buy branded if its on offer but For me, the toilet rolls, kitchen rolls, washing up liquid (again the slightly more expensive one) and things like lasagne sheets, and bags of pasta are absolutely fine, I also buy the value tomatoe ketchup - but mainly because kids dont notice the difference and will spread it willy nilly on anything and everything. Not too keen on the tinned stuff, any shop value baked beans - Ive never been that keen on. The fruit is OK as well, big bags of bananas etc. I also buy the morrisons value complete dog food and she is extremely full of life with a shiney coat, it is all she has ever eaten in her four years and thrives on it. I dont think I would touch things like sausages/pies though. Hope it helps xWith love, POSR0

The toilet roll is ok but the Sainsburys value one is MUCH better, not as rough so I go especially to Sainsburys for that!
The kitchen towel 3 pk for £1.50 is ok for what it is, better than the Wilkos value. They seem to have stopped stocking the non jumbo variety though which I used to get.
The tissues are ok, not the softest but quite useable and for 26p I am not going to complain!0 -
Ah.. that wonderful colour scheme which makes your basket look like you've got a fetish for tinned custard.
We use the washing powder and fabric softener and clothes seem clean with pleasant smell. (I'm a bloke so I can't really give a more in-depth analysis.. sorry)
Other things in the morrisons "custard" range..
Good: Dried Spaghetti, Basmati Rice, Long Grain Rice, Red Kidney beans (tin), tomatoes (tin), butter, frozen chips, frozen peas.
OK: Baked Beans, sweetcorn. (tins)
Bad: Garden peas (tin) and ironically enough tinned Custard, both were inedible.0 -
crisps - 24p for six packets!
also like:
curry sauce
tinned tomatoes, pineapple, grapefruit0
