RISE Visa/Balance transfer program.

Can anyone explain to me how the RISE balance transfer program works. I can't understand the wording on the site. What do you need to do? If i transfer a balance from another card will i have to close that card?

Well everything really? Is it a proper Visa card? From what i can work out on the site is it just like a standard balance transfer?

It is a proper Visa credit card. This is the way it worked for me.

I had a debt with a debt collection company. I paid a reduced settlement figure. Once I paid a certain proportion of this the rest was transferred to the credit card which has a £100 credit limit. The APR is 18.9%.

Right i see, thanks. So it's something you should really use to clear a debt, rather than balance transfer from another card?

That is correct. You cannot apply for it. You have to be invited.
