is it about cleaning, and establishing a routine?
I have just returned to work (working 30 hours over 4 days)from a years maternity leave and want to keep on top of my housework etc.

  • Good Evening Fly Agents! Just got back from w***.

No news from Michelle, as yet, but I'm now off for 2 weeks, so I'll be checking at regular intervals.

Welcome, cashsaver! I also suffer from lack of motivation, but if Flylady has taught me anything, it's do things in Baby Steps. My way is to do 3 things for 15mins each, using the kitchen timer (eg, tidy kitchen, tackle paperwork pile, and hoover stairs). I then have 15 mins for myself, such as surfing MSE with a cup of tea.

Also, I like posting my list, then crossing off what I've done and adding more. That's very satisfying.

Pink Parrot, welcome to you too! That's long days. When do you feel most keen to do things? That's when to start. I like first thing in the morning, between DH going to w*** and small Penguns getting up.

Others have their own ways. Keep posting and we'll keep you going!

Lynz, will look at the oven thread after tea, or possibly tomorrow, depending on homework schedule.

    hi PP,
your best bet is to flick back a page & theres a link to the flylady site for another newbie - something like flylady.net babysteps)

    Have a good read.

yes, it is about establishing a routine.

Im actually off work ATM so thats why Im doin so much, but I guess, I'll find it hard when I go back to work, to try & fit in all the things Ive been doing, partly cos we create more mess than I tidy ::rotfl: but I guess, the best time is whenever you can fit it in, Eg if you have a dishwasher, it might be a good plan to load & set it off before you go to work, likewise if you use a slow cooker, get tea in it, so its ready for the end of the working day ( plus witohut the pans to wash ;)

    Great another convert :T

Welcome to our little gang :D

NOw has anyone got any OS solutions to sore shoulders from scrubbing the oven/tiles/ floors :rotfl:

    Cashsaver,
A few things that might be cool to add to your lists of jobs which often get overlooked ( partic in my house :o)

    Skirting boards?
    INside of bedroom windows?
    Blinds & curtains
    polishing & dusting wardrobes?
Cleaning out the insides of the kitchen cupbaords?
    hoovering down the sofa?
    under the sofa?

Can you tell im a bit obsessed with cleaning at the mo!
Any "hotspots" areas, that more often than not are a bit of a tip? PC table is always boiling hot here, some people have a "dumping ground" somewhere, or do you have one of those drawers in the kitchen where *stuff* accumulates? You could go through that?

Whatever you do dont try to do them all in one day- or youll end up as frazzled as me!!!
