Flylady Challenge - Take 3

Punky - thanks for the tips. I am trying to get myself to a stage where i can just swish and swipe for a few months after the baby arrives.
DH has been a star and is doing all the heavy work that i shouldn't be doing, plus most cooking at the minute. His family are in london, so not much help at the moment, although his dad came up to do some decorating last bank hol, and his mum is coming to run the house for a week once baby is here. Another reason for it not to be too grim before she gets here, and there are certain jobs i wouldn't want her to do IYKWIM, My family, dad in a wheelchair, mum works full time and is dad's full time carer, sisters both have kids and one works, so both help when they can but are very busy. Sometimes its more work to see them as they have kids in tow.
Just having my lunch time break - i sorted clothes out while catching up on the home and away repeat (seems though i missed it because of the party yesterday). Here's my progress so far. which i'm quite pleased with. I will do the evening meal in the SC, and clean the sink as i put away the washing up i did earlier. I'll have a bit of a rest though now, and then see what i can manage later. I may even have an afternoon nap again today.cha97michelle wrote:OK - plans for today - working to the ultimate aim that DH needs to have a mate round to help him dismantle the big desk and put in the loft at the weekend, put on the radiator, and move the cupboard. (also, not to kill myself in the process)
1) finish toiletry audit
2) reorganise toiletries so they take up less room, and are arranged by type
3) [STRIKE]wash towels/flannels[/STRIKE] cheating here as i got them on first thing haven't got them in the TD yet as it is still raining, and TD is in the garage
4) [STRIKE]wash another load of baby clothes [/STRIKE]one going now, another 3 sorted out - how many clothes has this baby got
5) repack box for DH to put in loft
6) make chicken curry in SC with some to freeze
7) spend 30 minutes in the office decluttering/packing
8) spend 3 hours on school work
9) [STRIKE]do yesterdays washing up [/STRIKE]done - plus emptied cutlery drawer, washed everything and cleaned it as it was minging
10) clean kitchen sink/draining board
11) bonus load of my washing just in case i go to due date :rotfl:
12) airers emptied - clothes sorted into ironing pile or put away
5/12 done. Can't see me getting everything done, but my plan is to stop come 8pm tonight to watch queen anthea, and see what DH will have the energy to do this evening. Hopefully set up the computer downstairs and move some more boxes for me.
will pop back tonight to review the day, and set goals for tomorrow.

Hi all hope you are ok. TNG you have made me feel better - I keep slipping too. If it is any help my saving grace is that when I was more on top of things I had a bit sort out (nearly completed but not quite) so if I get my act together it does not take as long as pre-flying. Going to swish and swipe and do what I can upstaris in the bedrooms. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

Tomorrow I'm at work all day but DP and DS are going to grandparents overnight which means I maybe able to do some more of my mega list, if I don't spend all evening on here. Tomorrows plan is:
DW Load/run/empty
Buy DP birthday present, if not done before bed
Deal with post
Deal with emails
15 mins on hot spot
Prepare for Saturday

Denise - shall we send you some stardrops?
Friday is my day off, so I should have achieved heaps this morning, but I haven't. Have come down with the snuffles so I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself.
To do:
Left over from yesterday:
In the laundry: tidy shelves; wash window/door; wipe walls
In the kitchen: wash window;
Budget - again - because pays will have gone into bank
And on todays list:
Recycle - DONE
Laundry to MILs - I don't have a clothesline yet - DONE
Get tax stuff ready for accountant - DONE
Get stitches out at Doctors
Go to accountants
Pick up laundry from MILs
So as you can see, nothing to strenuous. Cleaned our bathroom last night, and got kids all to do a job each - clean toilet; empty all rubbish bins around the rooms of the house (wheelie bin gets collected today); vacuum living areas and the last one made pudding
Right off to clean laundry before going to Drs!!If there is to be any peace, it will come through being, not having - Henry MillerM.A.C.A.W Member . . Wannabe Flybaby0 -
Count me in!
I have no kids at school - not for a good few years, but I have just had a big de-clutter and there's even more to go!
I was gonna say you have no idea how much better it feels - but being flybabies, you all do!

Its wet and miserable out, so my motivation is low - my list will be mainly things that have to be done but are easier jobs. DH will help me over the weekend and i always feel more motivated because we achieve more when i direct and he does.
anyway - plan for today:
1) wash one load of my whites
2) tidy up cat prints as i'm going along. better still, see if they will let me dry them with a towel as they come in. otherwise it will be a mammoth job tonight/tomorrow.
3) pack at least one more box in the office
4) shift the small ironing pile
5) bring in the bin and recycling box
6) finish 8A scheme of work for school this must get done today
7) put curry from SC into tupperware boxes and freeze
8) do last nights washing up
9) make a stew in the SC for tea
10) put some empty boxes in garage from living room if rain eases - i'm fed up of cats unpacking the bubble wrap from them, as it is now all over the floor again
11) repack box to put in loft. - must do this today as i've been putting it off all week
I'm feeling better because only 2 of these are repeat items from yesterday. So i must be getting there slowly. Flyladies habit for october is to spend 15 minutes a day dealing with paper, so i'm sure tidying up the office counts.
Have a successful day everyone.

THUD! That was the noise I made falling off the wagon yesterday. Washing and ironing from holiday has put me behind and I was a bit overwhelmed by my list of things to do. Agree with Michelle, weather doesn't help with motivation:
1. Finish ironing pile from hell (just my stuff to iron) some more done
[STRIKE]2. White wash[/STRIKE]
3. Colour wash
4. Towels wash
5. Cleaning cloths wash
6. Cook curry for tea
[STRIKE]7. Meal plan[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]8. Grocery shop[/STRIKE]
9. Hoover upstairs
[STRIKE]10. Make beds[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]11. Put clothes away[/STRIKE]
12. Put stuff in loft
13. Get wedding mags for sister from loft
14. Tidy loft ( )
[STRIKE]15. Pick up dry cleaning[/STRIKE]
16. Put film in for developing
17. Clean ensuite
18. Office hotspot
19. Emails
[STRIKE]20. DW emptied[/STRIKE]
I'm just gonna spend 15 mins on each thing and try and be happy with that!!

Ive decided to drastically cut down my list of things to do each day as I tend to feel overwhelmed and just end up going back to bed!
So todays list:
1 job application - done :j
30 mins exercise
buy milk (to be combined with exercise)
clean carpet in hall, stairs and landing
1 little crochet hat
plus of course the fly lady stuff that has become so routine i don't even notice it(hotspot, room rescue, swish and swipe, one load of washing) - all done :T
