  • i was around in spirit if not physically yesterday.

I was pretty poopered, but with DH's help, we managed to:
    • wash 3 loads
    • prep the living room radiator so it just needs a coat of gloss now
    • DH fixed his bike
    • We swept and hoovered downstairs
    • we went shopping, then discovered that neither of us had any money, so we had £3 between us. Still bought what was immediate.
    • tidy the kitchen
    • put out recylcing and compost
    • hang clock and pictures in the living room
    • unpack 3 boxes into the new wallunit
    • visit my sisters to pick up baby equipment. (very essential so i can now wash covers and get properly ready for the little one.)
    • cook dinner rather than resort to takeaway

we felt like we should have done more, but it's also important to recharge ready to cope with everything else in the week.

I think i won't be doing that much today, but you never know.

    Hi flyers:hello:

I have realised that Flying is like a game of snakes and ladders - was doing really well, going up those ladders then moving across and now I've landed on the great big snake and slid right back down - not quite back to square one but definitely on the botton row:eek:

Have spent the morning rescuing the kitchen but it took a long time, just the floor to hoover and mop then up to the shower.

A tough lesson learnt. I need to practise what I preach to you lot and not let it slip.

    Have a good day.

  • well i'm feeling like i'm flying ladies and flyboy.

I finally finished writing the module i was doing for school, which i have been on with for two weeks - that was cause for celebration. But then to celebrate, i decided i should iron while i watched charmed this afternoon, and i managed to clear the ironing pile too. :j

that had the knock on effect that the baby stuff was ironed, so i could finish off packing the hospital bag - so i had cut tags off some more stuff so i needed to empty the bathroom bin.

I also decided to have a dust of my bedroom and wipe the window sill which hadn't been done for probably a couple of months with all the decorating elsewhere.

So - i'm starting the week feeling on top of it all. I had momentarily emptied DH's washing basket, but he has since put more stuff in.

    Plan for the week:
    - wash the next batch of baby clothes
    - wash moses basket covers
    - wash car seat covers
    - swish and swipe bathroom and kitchen
    - pay a cheque into bank
-pay my mum some money i owe her
    - chase up hotel confirmation for a friends wedding
    - chase up replacement coffee table
    - gently encourage DH to gloss paint living room radiator
    - try to spend 15 mins per day in the office that is soon to be reused as the babys room - a massive tip at the moment.
    - survive until friday when maternity leave officially starts, and try to meet work deadlines - this is the most important bit.
    - try to find suitable small desk to move computer from office to dining room.

Take care everyone. In arnie style, I'll be back!!

  • Just have to say, huge thanks and (((((hugs))))) to Moggins :A for starting this thread. I've never been very tidy, been a terrible hoarder, and lived a life that was great fun, but chaotic.

I'm now having just as much fun, but can move around my home, and feel much better for being tidier and less cluttered. :T :T

Big thanks to everyone who's posting, too.:grouphug: It's very motivating to be able to post on here.

  • well said pen pen. You are getting on really well. That long list looked daunting to me when you started, but you ust be taking great satisfaction in crossing bits off.

My actual list of everything i want to do before baby is at 159 items. That has been worked down from the start of the 6 weeks hols at 318 items. Some things are really quite silly and little, but i get huge satisfaction in crossing things off.

Good luck with the remainder of your jobs today. I'll be at work until at least 4:30, so other than a general swipe and make sure i eat well, i think a 15 minute office blast will be all that i manage.

I have a meeting today, so really what I need to do is
    1. Quick swipe round the bathroom
    2. fill out form for meeting later
    3. Get stuck in to this hotspot
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
