I have just read the rules for Lincoln's new refuse collection. All non-rigid plastic now goes to landfill, not the recycling box. And everything that goes in the refuse wheelie bin has to be in plastic, and then for food items double-wrapping. So more buried plastic, and down to a fortnightly collection...won't that be great in hot weather?
I'm off to cook a meal now...the last for a while not including dried pulses!
Are you not able to compost food waste? And what about a Green Cone for cooked food waste?
We throw away very little, and out wheelie bin doesn't smell!

I compost everything I can, and waste very little: I was thinking about kipper skins and chicken bones after making soup, and I'll definitely investigate the Green Cone.0

im baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!!! miss me????? all the jobs were done by 6:20pm. even found time to make biccies, wash the hearth and remop the kitchen floor!! so now im sat here pondering what else needs doing...... the stairs are feelin gritty underfoot so after goin to my course tmz i think its sweep them (i hate vacuming them, i keep getting attacked by the machine and i blew up my lil hand held one!), wash settee throw (blade threw blackcurrant pop down it)aswell as the dark load.the setee could do with a wipe down aswell. so theres a few extra jobs 4 me to get up to ontop of the usual ones. its freezer suprize for tea tomorrow so thats nothing to worry about........... (i defrosted the freezer on sunday n found lots of bags with one serving in them).... so i got cheese hamwich, dd got twizzler, ds got fish nuggets n we having oven chips/ veg with them and oh havin a chicken n mushroom slice, veg and some sort of boiled spuds.... sorted!!!!!
does anybody anything thats good 4 cleaning a cream leather settee with? stardrops n a damp cloth can only take off so much toddler debris and coal dust!
i even had time this afternoon do do the online shop for delivery on friday!does my bum look big in this sig?0 -
Carrie.. We got some leather wipes from kleeneze which we use on ours once a month.
Ordinary baby wipes are used most often and bring off the majority of the grime.
Why we thought a cream leather sofa was a good idea with 8 children and muddy footed cats I haev no idea!!
Toothpaste is fab for cleaning it too!! .. Especially those more stubborn marks.
Now.. if you have somehting that brings off biro.. please share!!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

8 kids and pets with cream leather sofas (OMG!)
With 3 boys we think we are mad to with cream leather furniture too and it's expensive Ekornes stuff too it does get grubby and it has quite a raised grain too so will follow any tips. But thought I'd mention that we were horrified to see a bit of biro on one of the footstools. We tried to clean it off gently but not much better. However a few days later it just disappeared we were thrilled :T
