  • Pigpen as you can see I have broken my tasks down into tasks I should do daily, tasks for that day and sometimes I also have a mega list of on going tasks that I work through when I can. My aim is to gain control of an area eg laundry and then to maintain control of that area.

    Hi all Flyers.
I have cleaned the kitchen within an inch of its life.:j
There is something very wonderful about a gleaming kitchen.
Still need to Hoover, will have to wait until tomorrow.
I still need to get outside in the front garden, we are bringing the neighbourhood down:eek:
On a positive note, I think I may have sorted out my DD sheep outfit for her Christmas Play.
    Hope everyones day went well.

wow! i am very impressed with you all!! you have done so brilliantly!!

PIGPEN i can nothing add to the others. you made your list already - break it down into managable to-dos and tackle it one by one ... babystep!
if it helps then set a timer for 15min and work through it!

after a day not doing much at all i somehow got some energy flown in and after dp has left for work

    - sweeped all downstairs
    - d/w
    - washed big things by hand and put away
    - cleaned all surfaces
    - put all toys away
    - took bin and recycling outside (and dp took bin to collecting point without being asked  :D :T )

ha! thanks guys - just remembered to actually press the button on the d/w AND get the mince out of the freezer for tomorrows dinner :T
I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work ;)

Morning FLYbabes, FLYboy, FLYnewbies and our latest FLYbaby Charlie.

Spooky - Michelle just yesterday I was gonna post and ask if anyone had heard from you and here you are! Yipee :j Take Penny's advice and spend the precious time you have with your beautiful new baby - housework can wait! Just do the basics like dinner, wash a day and the odd swish. Best advice I had was 'sleep when baby sleeps!

    Welcome Ellybel & Mandi! :hello:

It's good to know that when you have a bad day others make up for it by having a good day - keep it up kscour, Baileys Babe and of cause our Penny!

Picked nyself up off the floor last night and got a few bits done before bed which meant I could hit the floor running today.

    Done so far:
    Beds made
All washing up done (DW would appear to be broken  )
    One wash done, second on
    TD on
All rooms straight and tidy (except Punky's office which we don't mention...)
    S&S ensuite
Lots of tea made for builders

    To do:
Brace myself for inlaws - not happy with FIL as builders found his footprints in the newly laid concrete
    Cook Shepherds Pie
Do something with mountain of carrots
Attack ironing mountain - there's a skip outside - that might do it
Get ready for NCT group who will [STRIKE]attack[/STRIKE] visit home this afternoon.

    What I'd like to do
    Relax!

Have a good day all. Punky xx

Thanks for the lovely welcome Punky..

I dont belong here though.. No offence to you or any of the posters, but I just cant or maybe wont see the point in all this cleaning and planning..

If you think about it, you have a very short time living, and a long time dead.. Life is Just too short to clean under your sink, or make packed lunches..

    Live for today.. :j

2 years ago. last week, my DS was knocked over by a car, Id ony spoken to him seconds earlier..
He was lucky.. only had a broken leg.. But it changed my perspective on life.. and I realised that, a nice tidy home.. is nothing if the people you love are not here to make the Mess:D

i think the point is Mandi, well as i see it, that when you have a clean nad organised ISH home, then you then can have loads of time to be with your family. Flylady is about CREATING time and using that time effectively, not being obsessively clean.

I dont want to be doing any chores in the evening when OH is home, thats our time together/ So I get everything done while hes not here, then we can chill

LIfes never too short to make good food for those you love though- Im disagreeing with you there :D
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
  • Hi, Mandi, not going to engage in discussion with you about the rights and wrongs of Old Style. Each to his own, I'd say.

However, please remember that this isn't Discussion Time, and on OS we like to support each other in what we do. If you want to join in, please do. If not, that's great too, but no criticicsm of what we do, please, however kind and measured that criticism.

I fully agree with Lynz. Being organised allows me to have MORE time with those I love.

SARAH have you found your earring yet??!?!?!?!

ELLYBEL well done on your gleaming kitchen (i do agree there; it's nice coming down in the morning to a clean kitchen :))
i'd love to see that sheep though :D

KSCOUR hmm tough call, who could have dumped all 'his' stuff on the clean sides  :D

MANDI i can see where you are coming from but i have to agree with the others! of course i do have times when i can't be bothered but deep down i'd like to have a tidy and clean house to live in (if it's only for the crawling around kids sake - which it isn't ;))
and i do realise that i actually do have more time on my hand now it's getting so much easier to stay on top of everything! it might be hard work in the beginning but once you are there everything goes smooth and easy and you can 'almost' forget about it

    couldn't agree more :D :T

LYNZ what a shame that jobhunting is being so uncooperative
what kind of job are you looking for?
sounds like the right job for you anyways (the once you described earlier :D) - have you tried 'pampered chef' -2 of my friends are doing it and they love it and it's quite flexible too.
i can always refer you :D;)
thanks for the :coffee: - will have to put my list for today down (otherwise i get nothing done :o)
