    Please could we have an update on this? I hope very much that the reptiles in question crawled back into their hole, but it would be good to know that.

    Yep it is but easier said than done especially when stressed by something like this. Not everyone would think about reading what you are signing 99% of people would just sign thinking they have no choice. Bully tactics.

    Thanks for the up date and please let us know how you get on as this and the other thread will more than likely help others in the future.

    !!!!!!?

    let us know what happens

    TV LICENSING ARE MODERN DAY HIGHWAY BANDITS.

    Mother in her 70's just moved house and got two nasty letters from them, she wouldn't dream of breaking the law at all, she's far to honest.

    She has a licence think it was from old address, but because she was frightened of the demands she ended up sending her licence to them which got lost. They are sending her a new licence but just shows the depths some of these people get too, how do they sleep at night?

    I've just been "done" by them, despite having a TV that doesn't work. I shall post a new thread.

    One thing to remember as well is that ignorance is NOT a defence in court. Unfortunately that is the law as we can all make a mistake by genuinely not knowing we are doing wrong.

    Television Tax is a regressive tax that pays no attention to the level of income of the person paying the tax. It is targetted specifically against the poorer areas of society. They are maps available on the internet that detail of you live in an area that is likely to be targetted by these storm troopers.

    Just in case you want a bit of pin money, TV License storm troopers can earn, with commision!, £28,000. There's a nice earner if I saw one.

    Further. Are you expecting a visit. A good look at the social Deprivation website willl soon tell wether they come with their standard issue kicking in the door.

    http://www.wmpho.org.uk/information/ Note how they kind of try and call it a public health issue. Yet another example of NuLibors watchful eyes on our society!

    The TV license (not television tax) is a fee paid to watch TV. If you can afford a TV you can afford to pay it, it's barely more than £2 a week. We pay sky £73.50 a month, I think the TV license is fabulous value compared to that.

    We have a choice as to whether pay Sky or any other media provider. To watch Sky, I have to pay the BBC, even if I struggle to find more than 1 programme a week to watch.
