Startup error message

Options
When I boot up my laptop I get the following message

Microsoft.net framework

file not found

and an option to quit or continue, neither option seems to make a difference and the machine carries on as normal. So not fatal but annoying. Anyone got a clue what to do to get rid?

    Sounds like your .net runtime is broken. Try downloading and installing the latest version from Microsoft:

    just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

    ************** JIT Debugging **************
    To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
    application or computer (machine.config) must have the
    jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
    The application must also be compiled with debugging
    enabled.

    For example:

    <configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
    </configuration>

    When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
    will be sent to the JIT de!!!!!! registered on the computer
    rather than be handled by this dialog box.
