"I think we managed to put mummyofone right on the fact that a tuck box is NOT the same as Linford Christies' lunch box. Though you are right mummyofone, both may contain treats"
Have just had a giggle to myself. I must try harder to remember next time. Would hate to get them mixed up if I wasn't amongst friends

Well that went well, despite the light shower
Well, we managed to decide that lacrosse and Shred are both dangerous & we think it would be far safer curled up on the sofa with a book & small glass of sherry.
Who'd have thought PO was such an intellectual - quoting Blyton AND Janet & John books :T (though I think some of those Janet & John tales were of the Terry Wogan variety ).

As usual, I cant find the recipe that I usually make! But here is one that I came across last month

Here is a Nigel Slater one for just Courgette Cake

Nigella also has a Courgette Cake. I couldnt get a link, but someone has fiddled with it and this is the result

I know a few of you were thinking yuck! But its just the same as using carrots
Yesterday I decided to use up some of my courgette harvest to make fritters. Fritters is just the wrong word. They were the most gorgeous lush little things. And I will be having leftovers today
THANK YOU! Now all I have to do is wait for the courgettes to actually appear! I thought they were easy to grow but all I have is yellow flowers and huge leaves! When do the blinking courgettes appear? (anyone want to pop round and make them grow please?!). I have a cucumber on my cucumber plant so I can be a complete disaster in this field...can I?!?!?:p0 -
I have courgettes, all two of them and they're little fat round ones the size of tennis balls. Typically they chose to appear the morning that the head gardener (aka DD2) left to visit Granny for the week. Its the only day she hasn't disappeared down the garden in PJs and wellies to check on them too.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

They grow after the flowers and the leaves should be huge lol. However, I wasnt very successful last year. I dont think I had used enough manure. So this year I put on plenty of chicken poo as I planted out the plug plants. I lost one, but the first two have been brilliant. The other two are coming on slowly with teeny courgettes on them. But I'm in Scotland and my growing season will no doubt be behind yours.
PS I have a new recipe for beetroot chocolate brownies that I'm desperate to try out0 -

Aw bless! Can you take a pic and send them to Granny?0 -

Oh dear...I was supposed to add manure?!?!? Erm...I didn't! But I did put a bit of my compost bin slimey mix in the soil before planting! But all I have is stalky flowers....maybe its the manure thats doing it - I don't even have tiny courgettes yet
Let us know how you get on with your beetroot brownies. I have a glut of runner beans.....I wonder how runner bean brownies taste?!?!:D0
