    Thanks for the house TPA! I will move in with OH tomorrow. We make pretty good pizzas and have tons of DVDs so can offer film and pizza evenings!

    'Lewis Lane Laureates :D'.
    You are cordially invited to the inaugral meeting of the book club.
    Location: The Summerhouse, No. 1 Lewis Lane (ok, the bar in the big shed at the bottom of the garden, turn left at the dove cote, watch out for the gardener's tools in case he's left them out)
    Day & Time: Saturday afternoon, 3pm sharp (Pimms from 3.15 ;))
    Dress code: optional
    Bring a friend
    Bring a bottle
    Bring a friendly bottle
    This week's book is 'First Term at Malory Towers'. Questions to prepare for:
    - Would lacrosse still be allowed today? Isn't it just too violent and competitive? Should they be Shredding instead?
    - Would you prefer their midnight feasts or a more modern version with no transfats, e numbers and sugar?
    - How would a school full of teenage girls be viewed by the men on this board?
    - Where are they hiding the alcohol?
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    :j I'm back from my hols thank you for looking after my furbabies. Froggt can move in next to me if theres room, Elvis can keep my cats company :D
    SmlSave, sorry the 80's groove isnt your bag. Have mostly been playing DireStraits, Eric Clapton and Jeff Wayne. Although I have to say listening to War of the Worlds coming down the M4 with wind turbines coming over the horizon gave me the screaming doodahs!!
    I LOVED Mallory Towers and St Clares!!!! I wanted Alicia to be my best friend and play tricks on Mamzelle!!! Unfortunatley I wasnt allowed to go. :mad:
    Lacrosse would be seen as far to violent for todays teenager and what about the first years cleaning out the sixth formers rooms and laying the fire?!! Miss Potts was a teacher there wasnt she?? A midnight feast by the sea-filled pool sounds lovely. Wasnt there a Carlotta at St Clares (she slapped people). I got some newer copies of the books about 5 years ago and so much had been changed from the old copies, had been made more 'pc' For instance. In one of the books there was a character called Josephine whos father was loaded and she threw her weight around a bit and no-one liked her. She ran away with Daphne (I think she was Sallys little sister) who was a few years younger. In the old books she hid money up her knicker leg. In the new book its in her tunic pocket..... Silly! *Realises shes an anorak.....
    Am working today so be back later may I join the partay when I get back? Anyone want me to pick anything up on the way home???
  • Ooops, sorry. Forgot the recipe for Chocolate Courgette Cake :o As usual, I cant find the recipe that I usually make! But here is one that I came across last month :D
    http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/633634/chocolate-courgette-cake
    Here is a Nigel Slater one for just Courgette Cake
    http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/633634/chocolate-courgette-cake
    Nigella also has a Courgette Cake. I couldnt get a link, but someone has fiddled with it and this is the result
    I know a few of you were thinking yuck! But its just the same as using carrots :D
    Yesterday I decided to use up some of my courgette harvest to make fritters. Fritters is just the wrong word. They were the most gorgeous lush little things. And I will be having leftovers today :D
    Well that went well, despite the light shower :)
    Well, we managed to decide that lacrosse and Shred are both dangerous & we think it would be far safer curled up on the sofa with a book & small glass of sherry.
    Who'd have thought PO was such an intellectual - quoting Blyton AND Janet & John books :T (though I think some of those Janet & John tales were of the Terry Wogan variety :eek:).
    I think we managed to put mummyofone right on the fact that a tuck box is NOT the same as Linford Christies' lunch box. Though you are right mummyofone, both may contain treats ;)
    Am amazed Dans Mum managed to walk straight after all that em strawberry & cucumber consumption.
    Right, where's the barbie :beer:
