Thanks for the ACAS link. Shall show him that when he gets home later.
I don't know how many seats there will be in the van - shall check later. Knowing them, they'll end up sitting on one anothers knees!
And thanks paulwf - he enjoyend his second to last job (which was his brief stint out of his chosen career path) but sadly he was made redundant - typical. He was on much better money there too and had luxuries like a good pension scheme and the likes there too. Damn them for having to make cuts!!0 -

TUPE stands for transfer of undertakings, protection of employment. It's a bit of a minefield, so would need to understand quite a bit to advise on anything TUPE. Normally pronounced chew-pee, lol.*** Thank you for your consideration ***0

Thanks for that, I'll have a good look through the website and show the hubby later. Pleased you told me how its normally pronounced as I was already pronouncing it wrong in my head0

The 8:50 time is not a demand, it takes me 10 minutes to get to my regular place of work so any meetings which require longer travel time I take the time back at a later date, this is also written in a policy and is applicable to all NHS staff within my organisation.
Are these policies on the Intranet? I work for the NHS and we sure don't have those rules....we are expected to be at any location for 9am if needed and if that means leaving the house 30 mins earlier then tough.
But if you were able to direct me to the policies it would help my team enourmously as we have had huge problems with this in the past.0 -

Any location in the country though or just the same PCT?
Agenda for Change delegates this sort of payment to a local decision, I suspect because the NHS doesn't have many people who travel the country on a regular basis0 -
You mentioned earlier that there was no union.
Anyone can join a union, the employer doesn't have to recognise it, but if enough of them did they might feel more secure at pointing out what was and wasn't reasonable.

I joined a union a couple of months ago because I could see something 'brewing' at work. We seem to be working towards an amicable settlement, but I shall keep paying my subs!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Well it's meant to be same PCT but we all had to travel for several days to a training course way outwith the area and we never got the time back.
We don't have the fairest boss (she seems to think that she runs her own company as oppose to working for the NHS!) so any info for things like these is a great help.
It seems as if I am constantly on to my Union rep asking for advice and we are not all in the Union and to be honest it sometimes grates me that I pay my fees, get assistance if needed but everyone seems to benefit.0
