NTL student?

I'm going back to uni next week for my 2nd year and now need to sort out broadband etc. DOes anyone know if NTL do student deals on tv and broadband packages, and if so where can i go to get information?

wouldn't have thought so. Don't think any TV or braodband companies offer a student rate.

If a student rate existed it would most likely be more than the standard rate due to higher usage

We have just had ntl installed in our house for 2nd year of uni. We only had a discount of £10 for ordering online, and also cashback from going through Quidco.

Thanks for the replies, I'll give ntl a ring and see what they say. Its a bit annoying that they're slightly more expensive to begin with:o

If you can do without it for a few weeks when you start again, try going into students union during the day. For the past couple of years at mine (Warwick) NTL have had a stand trying to get people to sign up. I think it was the standard 3 for £30 deal, but they were offering 9 month student contracts instead of the usual minimum of 12 so if they're doing it again this year you could save yourself some cash if you all leave for the summer.

I've had the same deal Matty got, ie 9 month contract instead of 12. Useful if you're planning to move into your house in Sept and move out in July as many students do, as most of the broadband companies only offer 12 month contracts.

I have the exact same problem...I know that Virgin do a 9 month contract or something similar...but their prices aren't the best...

I've just ordered ours now for Nottingham.

The women on the phone said they're not doing 12 month contracts anymore.

If I find out that they do during fresher's week next week, what powers do I have to complain?

They better do 12 month contracts, my daughter is having hers connected today. She is also in Nottingham.
