As you're not being redirected but apply via a landing page, cashback may still work. Those who try it should remember to clear all their cookies first, then go to PlusNet via their cashback site of choice, then go to the page linked to above.0 -

Clicking on the 'claim this offer' link there still is a bit of stuff in the URL you might need to get rid of.0 -
O2 have changed their pricing and packages:
http://www.o2.co.uk/broadband/
I would recommend going with the £8 package with a 20GB limit. If you were to encounter problems with breaching the limit you can always upgrade. Line rental is considerably cheaper than BT at £7.50/month.0 -

Already updated:
BT Line Rental Saver + £25 cashback comes to £88.88 whereas 12 months at £7.50 comes in just above at £90.
Of course, you could argue that there is a risk that the BT cashback may not materialise and for the sake of £1.12 it is worth not taking the cashback risk.0 -
Broadband + Line Rental + BT Reconnection Fee
O2 Basic Broadband 12 Months (+Cashback) + O2 Line Rental - Up to 20Mbps, 20GB/Month Downloads (if in O2 'Unbundled' Area), Requires O2 Sim (either monthly contract or pay £10 every 3 months).
£8 x 9 (12 month broadband contract)
£7.5 x 12 (12 months line rental)
£85 Line Rental Setup
£10 x 4 (O2 PAYG Topup)
£50 (O2 cashback)
Total: £237.00 (£197.00 if you are already with O2).
Not the best as you can get a 2GB limit for £6 cheaper (at £191 with Sky) or for £193 you can get line rental with Sky and broadband with O2.0 -
Just signed up for Virgin Media's 9 month 'L' (up to 10Mbps) service at £20/month:
Installation fee is discounted to £0 at the moment, also went through Quidco for £65 cashback. £115 potentially, an amazing deal.
Virgin Media 'L' Broadband 9 Months (+Cashback) - Up to 10Mbps, Unlimited Downloads, Traffic Management.
£20 x 9 (9 month broadband contract)
£0 installation fee (discounted until 31/10/10)
£?? (activation fee, apparently £20, discounted to £0 when you produce an NUS Extra card, costs £11)
£65 (Virgin Media cashback via Quidco)
Total: £115.00 (£126.00 if you need to show NUS card for activation fee)
I've also updated the 20Mbps deal with VM on the first page.
EDIT: VM Quidco Cashback tracked in within 24 hours of the order.0 -
Limited Offer: £165 Quidco Cashback
From 9am 21st Sept 2010 to 24th Sept 2010, Virgin Media are offering £165 cashback with Virgin Media. This is how it stacks up:
Virgin Media 'L' Broadband 9 Months (+Cashback) - Up to 10Mbps, Unlimited Downloads, Traffic Management.
£20 x 9 (9 month broadband contract)
£0 installation fee (discounted until 31/10/10)
£?? (activation fee, apparently £20, discounted to £0 when you produce an NUS Extra card, costs £11)
£165 (Virgin Media cashback via Quidco)
Total: £15.00 (£26.00 if you need to show NUS card for activation fee)
This is so depressing as I got VM broadband last week0 -
Thanks very much for the above post. It looks great, but I am a bit confused (easily done!). Do you need a separate BT line installed already or to have a cable line? I'm not sure why, but I find all things broadband really confusing! As for the cashback, I wondered if you knew is there some way of knowing you have definitely got it in time to say cancel if you didn't?
Edit - This seemed like such a good deal I decided to just go for it and see what they said/what I needed, but despite nearly all of the addresses near me showing up as okay for the service mine didn't seem to! So now they have to call me back..but don't know whether that would affect cashback (even though I went through Quidco).0 -

If you have cable in your area you don't need a BT Line. Virgin will activate the cable line for you and that will give you broadband (the base L deal only gives BB, no phone line).
If it tracks, it should appear on Quidco within 48 hours or so (mine tracked at midnight, 1 hours after I ordered). They then text/email you to see if the suggested installation time is available. You have at least 7 days cooling off.
On a side note, I've cancelled my original order and I'm ordering again because £100 (and broadband for the year at £15) is simply too good to refuse.0 -
It sounds like a great buy, but I don't think I am going to be able to get it as my address doesn't show as available (although the neighbours do) and I would need to wait to be called to see if they could do it. The problem is Quidco say this will likely mean no cashback. Shame as I really need broadband asap as well and financially this deal sounded great.
Only other worry was install times, I clicked on a link in the main forum (avoidvirginmedia.co.uk) and the length of time they take to give you the broadband seemed a bit of a worry, but I would have still risked it given the cashback. Hope it works out well for you, cheers for the info.0
