Dysons, are they break more than Miele?

..and no other manufacturer charges as much?!
It's irrelevant to the consumer how much has been spent on research..it either collects dirt or it doesn't. Why pay 2 or 3 times the price to fund a company's research when you can buy an equally good vacuum cleaner at a fraction of the price elsewhere? Bagless saves alot of hassle. I paid £6.32 last month on ebay (£1.75 postage) for a HEPA filter and a couple of belts . That's the first HEPA filter i've replaced (granted we needed it for a long time!) and the 3rd belt. How long does it take to use 4 bags at £10 a time?
If you want to pay a company to spend millions on developing a brown paper bag buy miele!!
Similarly with Dyson...my electrolux is based on technology Dyson claim to have invented. Dyson customers pay for Dyson research. Other manufacturer's adopt/copy "Dyson" technology and can sell it on cheaper as they have'nt spent millions on research.0 -
The interweb is great for a bargain, I bought 30 bags for my Miele cat and dog for £15 if I recall was some time ago.
Electrolux, cheap which is why we bought it when starting out lasted just over year.
Bought some other cheap brand went well but replaced it when we got the dog. And on recommendations bought the Miele.
Excellent and deals with dog hairs which is why we paid £100 for it so not exactly a fortune. The other half's parents have had their Miele for as long as I've been with her (15 years) and no issues with it whatsoever, so Andrew I think you'll find in relation to that hoover it did work out to be a bit of a money saver after all.
And we've had our Miele washing machine for 6 years now, not required a service so again good value for money.0 -
Had my Miele cat and dog for years. It does what it says on the tin. Dyson is just bits of shiny plastic and I've heard more than one person say they wouldn't get another.
Miele bags are pricey in shops but a lot cheaper on the internet.0 -
Should have known i was opening a can of worms with the miele brigade
Is a bit one sided this argument...safety in numbers?!
Rusty, our Tricity bendix washer is about 8 years old and only prob was needing a new belt which i fixed myself for £5. I'm not disputing that miele aren't good...just saying that cheaper brands can and do last just as long and if they do then surely that's better value in the long run especially if the consumables used are cheaper too. Now our washer may well pack in tomorrow, but for the price we paid i have enough to pay for a replacement which might last another 10 years!
If anyone wants to buy me a miele cat and dog or a miele washing machine to give you a more informed review.....0 -
But for me it's not just about how long they last. I need a vacuum that's efficient at picking up pet hair and many are hopeless.
Frankly if I didn't have a dog, I would have a Hoover Henry.
These seem to be the mainstay of professional cleaners. We should ask ourselves why.0 -
Dyson pet one is the one I have and I love it......... Dyson animal, around £280Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0

LOL! You see you need to have experience of the Miele dust bag before you make a statement like this. Miele haven't used paper for their bags for as long as I can remember, it is a fabric filter system that has I think 7 layers, that seals itself as it is removed from the cleaner.
Most appliance manufacturers copy others. Miele are one of the very few that innovate! We all have choices on what we purchase and thankfully there are plenty of consumers out there that want the best and not just something that will do, because its for these consumers that want the best that makes companies like Miele push the boundaries and in the end make life better for us all!0
