Whats the daftest question you've had on an item?

Just remembered another one...not strictly a question but in the same sort of area.
I sold some sci fi stuff ages ago to a guy who emailed back to ask if I had more and why I was selling. I explained that I was really just selling one off items that I had aquired elsewhere but I admitted to liking sci fi.
He sent a couple more emails asking what I liked etc, which I responded to politely but not very chatty as he was beginning to worry me a bit..I then got an email asking if I would be his girlfriend as he had never met another girl who liked sci fi and knew so much about it.
My husband thought it was amusing :rotfl:I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. i think the best and most frequent must be the one that goes "will it fit my daughter?"
(other versions include, 'will it fit me' 'have you got it in my shoe size?' etc etc)
it's a bit like........how long is a piece of string? isnt it?!
also, have you noticed, when they have a question, they always leave it until 2 minutes before the listing finishes so you dont have time to answer them anyway? are they serious?
this is the same with making an offer - had one only last week where they made an offer just before closing, leaving me exactly 59 seconds to get an answer to them!! (the answer was no, fyi, because it was a daft offer, but anyway...........)
oh the joy of ebay :rotfl:0 -
i got an email from a guy (please note this is the winning bidder, AFTER the bid has ended), saying.... "will you take £7.50 for it (instead of £10) i couldn't beleive it, i really couldn't0

Not necessarily a daft question but a worrying question...was selling some ladies shoes and a bloke wrote to me asking if I would send him pics of myself (just legs) modelling them (even offered to pay more for them, if I provided said pics). I suppose wouldn't have found it strange, but he was very, very specific - i.e. please would you wear some black tights/stockings and stand in a specific manner - SUPERFREAK!!! Ignored him and informed e-bay about his dubious shoe related perving offences - fair enough if it's your thing, but you can (apparently??!!) pay for those kind of services!!0

LLK - I sold loads of ladies tights a few years ago, they were all extra size (biggest M&S do). Funny how most of them got posted to men....The best things in life are NOT free - but they sure are cheaper with MSE!:j0

You could have made your fortune and then you wouldn't need to visit the MSE site!

I was once selling a Burberry dog collar & lead, despite my listing saying that that it was an unwanted gift I was asked by a potential buyer if I had the item in a different colour!!!0

At the time of the World Cup I was selling drawstring bags that had the flag of St George which is obviously red and white and and the word England underneath in blue. Someone asked me if I did them in lilac with Chinese writing on. I told her if she could find an England flag that was lilac and written in Chinese she could have the bag for free.Waddle you do eh?0
