Good luck to you all, I stopped smoking on November 21st last year and must admit it was hard to do but I was at the point where I 'wanted' to give up because I just didn't enjoy it anymore, and I was constantly ill/suffering with a cold.

Hi youngandreckless,
What a wonderful thread.
My O.H and I have just returned from a holiday in Spain after a series of bruising encounters with creditors and ultimately the official receiver. By the time we eventually got down to Stansted I was smoking a good 30 a day and rising. I've tried various methods over the years to stop all to no effect but this time I was determined to quit. My reasoning was simple, if I couldn't stop while we were on holiday miles away from the phone and post box then there would be no way I'd ever quit when we got back home.
After some prevarication I smoked my last one on wednesday of last week and haven't had one since. I have to confess sat here typing there's nothing more I want than to go outside and have a smoke. Having said that, I do feel incredibly refreshed, it's not yet five days since my last one and the physical difference is quite remarkable.
Good luck to you all,
Richard (a wanabee ex smoker)0 -
