I have a plan in place for the next one to call at my house.
I will ask them to hang on while I go and turn the cooker off and say I will have to shut the door to stop the dog getting out.
Wonder how long they will stay standing there?Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0 -

I think it was pretty obviously a tongue in cheek comment. Don't take it so seriously!0 -
It might be a good idea to tell the police. Not that they can do anything, but if this happens a few times they probably will. If they don't know about arrses like this he'll just go on threatening pensioners.0

Energy companies agree to curb cold calls
Consumers who do not want to receive cold calls on the doorstep will no longer be bothered by energy salesman, companies have agreed today.
The energy big six, British Gas, EDF Energy, E-ON, NPower, Scottish Power and SSE, have said they will respect the wishes of people who live in recognised ‘no-cold-calling zones’ or who display signs, notes or stickers on their homes saying they do not wish to be contacted by cold callers.0 -
I had a call from SSE last week and had a sign up clearly saying no cold callers0

That must be the statement I read, perhaps we should put a sign on the back door too, it would be interesting to see their faces when they realise we're one step ahead of them!0
