I don't use my tumble drier much now due to cost. I am paranoid about things shrinking in it (my Mum seems to manage it a lot :(, as soon as I was buying my own clothes I started washing them too). I never tumble dry stuff that is a perfect fit (eg. don't want jeans that are 1 cm shorter as just perfect the way they are). I also never put vest tops/stretchy items in the tumble drier. I've never shrunk anything but am very, very careful :T

    Hiya all,

We don't have a tumble dryer at the mo, but my hubby is really keen to buy it because he is very annoyed by clothes drying inside in winter times. I am hesitating, because I hate ironing and when I wash his office shirts on "reduce ironing" mode and hang them carefully - I have to spend just 5 minutes ironing them. Would tymble dryer jam shirt? I was told that it will.

Tell him to iron his own clothes if he insists on getting one.

I have a washer dryer but I hardly ever use the dryer.

I peg out in fine weather and in the winter I have those over radiator airer things and a horse in my walk in airing cupboard.

The dryer gets used for bedding in the winter if I am unable to peg it out as it's too big for the airier. last winter I had to use it about 2 or 3 times.

Don't have one, don't want one, think they should be banned.

Generations have coped without them. You just need to be more organised.
