my home would swiftly turn into a chinese laundry if i didnt use my tumble dryer. I use mine so the clothes are 'just damp' and then air them on the line if i have the space to peg them out! As long as you dont overheat, or overdry you will be fine!0

I use the tumble dryer all year long, I cant stand to see washing on the line. Saves on ironing as well if you time it right.0

I use main for most washings these days, living in Bonnie Scotland, its my only choice really. I am a bit of a stickler about turning things off at night, etc. and as such, my elec bill is about £30 a month even though the dryer is on most days. The shrinkable things (t shirts mainly) get taken out when alomst dry and hung up for an hour or two on the horse, I also very rarely iron, and have been known to stick stuff back in the dryer with a damp facecloth, rather than pull the iron out.

I tend not to use my tumble dryer much at all now especially during the drier/warmer weather. I used to use it alot during the winter, then last winter I bought a clothes airer, and place that near the radiator to use the heat from that to dry the clothes. I many use the drier is I have lots of washing to dry and theres not enough room on the airer.
I do like my washing pegged out on the line though as much as possible. My drier does have the "fresh air" button for drying bt its not the same as it being on the line.

Mine gave up the ghost a few years ago and started belching out smoke. Never replaced it - we moved house and don't have space for it now anyway (dishwasher space is more important lol)
Washing goes out on the line most days. If I have to dry it indoors I give it a second 1400 spin then put in on the dryer in the upstairs hall. During winter I will utilise the upstairs radiators during the day to dry things quicker.Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. I finally gave in buying a dryer last year due to being bogged down with dirty muddy uniform with the lads playing football every day. But we tend to dry as much as possbile on the line, if we get a forecast of rain then as much as possible on airers next to radiators until we have more washing than we know what to do with then it starts going in to the dryer - tend to only really throw things in that are needed asap such as towels and school uniforms.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

The drier means that i have got into crisis with the washing, or my grandchild has come in soaked and needs dry clothes to go home in. I do use it more in the winter, and also for removing bits if a tissue got into the washing machine. But I do try to use as little as possible, both for the bill and for the environment.0

I would be lost without my tumble drier - I have two cats and its the only thing that manages to remove the cat hairs. Plus its great for making my towels soft - if I leave them to dry naturally they seem to end up very rough (and thats with the fabric softener).0

I don't have a tumble dryer, never have done and manage fine without.
We have a couple of washing lines outside and those plastic attachment things for the radiators when the weathers not good.
Whilst I'm married I don't have kids so we don't have that much laundry to deal with."Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?" (Douglas Adams)0
