If it was up to me the whole wedding would be beach/sea themed and so the tables would be named after our favourite beaches

Bless our football mad H2B's! I've ordered a cake topper with him wearing a full Liverpool strip rather than a suit, as a surprise! He has no idea, unless he reads this forum of course! I doubt he will... he's more than happy to let me spend every waking minute thinking wedding, then ask for his opinion on stuff! Won't mention logo's to him.... although he did ask if we could have a football shaped top cutting cake for our cupcake tower!! I told him the cake topper wouldn't stand up on it!! What are they like!!:rotfl:
missknixon... our bright red theme was chosen by my H2B! I would have like maybe cerise, but am happy to go with the red! Thinking about it.... he's not doing to badly with his input to the day after all!!:heartpuls dawnebabe :heartpuls0 -
I am a bit of a red fiend anyway! He only joked after I had sent the invitations out! Then my dad asked if I was going the Man U route!0

we're having dr seuss books as table numbers, just need to make a decision about exactly how to display them!
dr seuss because the first conversation i had with my fiance was because he was wearing a 'cat in the hat' hat0 -
We don't have set flowers so I have decided to name them after flowers roses, lily, tulips, sunflowers and have the flowers in a vase on the table and then I am hoping to have the sashes to match eg yellow sashes for sunflowers and pink sashes for pink roses. Our general wedding theme is flowers thoughMoved in 12/09 Mortgage 126K0

You could maybe get dates special to you - first meeting, proposal, first holiday etc with facts about the date. There's a link somewhere for a site that tells you who's birthday it is on your wedding date or just facts about the two of you.
I like the cow idea, I'm sure your OH will come round.
We were going to have the different champagnes as it ties to the theme but the tables are going to be set out in one U shaped table0 -
I've had all sorts of ideas including Alice in wonderland characters, famous west end shows, famous authors ie Dickens, Bronte etc or perhaps favourite characters ie Darcey, Bennett (Pride and Prejudice). We got engaged in Jamaica and as Ian Flemming wrote alot of his work out there I think we are going to go with James Bond inspired names!0

Actually, I'm wondering what to do about table names / numbers.
I don't have a theme for the wedding, but I can see what people are saying about some guests getting the hump if they're on table 13 or whatever.
Maybe I'll go completedly random:
Carrot
Sponge
Balncmange
Ecuador
Trumpet
etc

I was thinking about this last night and although I'm not needing them, if I was having a wedding big enough to warrant a few tables I would either have various locations round the country where we have been together to tie in with our theme, or films. Can you imagine all the guests who love to drink and dance on tables being seated at Coyote Ugly, or all the ones who suffer the morning after being on The Hangover?!No longer ...tobe! We're not having a big enough wedding to warrant table names but I'd have definitely had names rather than numbers. A wedding I went to a couple of months ago had numbers and I thought that they'd really missed a trick there as the numbers on the tables were the venue's standard ones so looked out of place with the rest of the decor and the B&G are total 80s action movie nuts so I was expecting the tables to be named after their favourite films, actors, or quotes that they both come out with all the time.
My brother and SIL2B are naming their tables after places in North Yorkshire, and after my suggestion, they're going to get pictures of them in each place as well so it gets people mingling as they look at the pictures. A friend is getting married to a rugby player so they're naming each table after rugby terms with a little description of what it means. I think it's nice to use things that mean something to the couple, it brings a little bit of individuality to the day.
I do like the cow idea though missknixon! Sounds quite funny and it'll be good to see your friends get the inside joke!
LOL @ RainbowDrops! :rotfl:Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
