I know its normal to have table numbers on tables however my OH is not to keen so we thinking of table names or not having them at all. Has anybody got any ideas of what they are having or have done in the past?

Some friends of mine had the names of champagne houses: their top table was Veuve Cliquot, we were on Tattinger, other friends were on Moet et Chandon....
We're having the names of particular items of note in our town & instead of a label, we're having a picture of that item of note - can't say any more than that as it' a bit of a surprise for our guests!0 -
you can have what ever you want to identify the tables
numbers
holiday destinations you've visited
places that are significant to both of you
songs you both love
movies you both love
star constellations
what ever both of you really love
me the OH are going for either gig venues (we go to lots of gigs), bands we both love or songs that have been significant to us during the time we've been together.0 -
I did suggest colours! I'm a teacher! or shapes! He wasn't too impressed! Love the ideas though. Please keep them coming! Am currently suffering wedding brain freeze0

We wanted to have names of music festivals we'd been to as our table names but our friend did that for her wedding so we've decided to have names of actual tables for ours! So, we have coffee, pool, nest of, bus time etc! A bit cheesy, but we think it's funny and that's all that matters!0

mines a suprise too, we're having table names related to our jobs, just printed onto the same card we're using for the place cards, menu cards, invites etc. then maybe a few sparkly bits and ribbon to finish them off0

were having musicians that we love, OH has Strummer, Lydon and Bowie. I have Finn, Jagger and Ferry.
as our theme is balck and white we have black and white pictures of each musician for the tables0 -

Our venue is the calfs head! My nickname since I was a child has been moo - do you think a variety of cow breeds would be ok?
It could be quite good and quite fun! Keeping with the theme of the place!0 -
I love the cow theme idea!
Jersey, Friesian, Belgian Blue, Charolais, Welsh Black, Guernsey, Holstein, Aberdeen Angus etc...
Other ones I've seen are Cocktail names, Films, Lord of The Rings names etc.0
