You obviously don't practice what you preach do you !0 -
Sounds fair to me, why shouldn't you be able to prove when you purchased something you wish to return? Not like you don't get a receipt when you buy things these days!0

Asda have the best customer services attitude of any of the supermarkets, so I'm encouraged to buy new things there which I wouldn't dream of doing at their rival where apparently every little sum assists their profits. In contrast, at Asda they're friendly and no hassle if a refund or exchange is requested, which is why I give them 80% of what I spend on groceries and non food like car stuff and gadgets, phones etc. I don't buy clothes at George that often, but can easily understand why they insist on a receipt for non defective product refunds, a lot of places do and rightly so.Escaped from Barnet to freedom in the South-East!0

Yes if it is a customer error it is at the discretion of the shop!Barnetbear wrote: »Asda have the best customer services attitude of any of the supermarkets, so I'm encouraged to buy new things there which I wouldn't dream of doing at their rival where apparently every little sum assists their profits. That's for a refund, on I assume a recently bought item? I imagine that if you returned it for a repair rather than refund, they'd not ask for the instructions etc.Escaped from Barnet to freedom in the South-East!0 -
Bought some shoes a few weeks ago and they were starting to fall apart already. Didn't have the receipt of course because they were just chucked in with the shopping. Was told of the new policy, wife had to argue with them for a while but eventually got a gift card (would have been happy with another pair but they didn't have any).0
