You can buy sparkling elderflower flavoured water in supermarkets. Its lovely. I think I might actually consider mixing it half and half with sparkling wine as a welcome drink and maybe even the toasts. Its a lovely light summery taste.

Don't think I've ever had Shloer, but could you get a small bottle from a supermarket to try it?

I don't really know anyone that doesn't drink to test it out with me :rotfl:

I might see what MIL2b wants, I don't want her overfaced with alcohol

We're not having awelcome drink simply as we can't afford to! We are taking our own wine and sparkly for the toast which will be about £75 total (£2.25 per bottle and fizzy is free from gift vouchers) but our corkage will be extortionate, though cheaper than buying their wine. We've been to several weddings where we bought our own drinks, some for a couple of hours whilst photo's were on, b ut we aren't having formal photos so our guests won't be hanging around waiting, and we're providing games so hopefully people will be having fun and not having to drink too much!
If we had spare money we would do it but we'd ratehr give them a lovely venue and meal and have them buy their own drinks, noones objected so far.

I think sometimes there's a lot of pressure on couples to provide everything for guests, but if they truly want to celebrate your day with you, if they cant' afford a lot of drinks they won't mind, they'll just be happy to be invited to be with you. These 'little' things can soon add up when you're paying for everything else.
