Hi guys & thanks.
Needless to say if you decide to invest be very careful where you put your money - I'd hate to think I'd inspired someone to follow me & they lost money.
The ACG rise this morning was quite good, just a shame that sentiment is so against the IVA sector at the moment. Compared to peoples expectations of how much profit ACG were going to make, the results look disappointing, but when you consider that they more than doubled turnover, increased profits fourfold, & earning per share by 258% compared to last year, & with good growth expected in the future, thats pretty fantastic really.
They're on a price-earnings ratio of 6 & a bit, which is way too low based against the performance alone, without future potential considered, & I hope, if sentiment becomes a little more favourable, that they'll recover to 95p - 100 within a couple of weeks.
Finger crossed
Character are now 189, so thats 15,100 * 189 = £28,5390 -

That should be fingers crossed - I do have more than 1 really - honest0 -
Hello,
well exciting times ahead - it's interim results day tomorrow, & with the company already saying that results would be "substantially" ahead of expectations it'll hopefully be a whopper of a day - fingers firmly crossed
The shares are £2.07p today, so thats 15100*£2.07 = £31,257. A £21,257 profit from my £10K MBNA interest free credit card withdrawal in just over 6 months.
A 3 bagger as they say in the trade0 -
Excellent!
How is your ACG investment going? If I had a pound for every time I didn't play the lottery...0 -
Bit of a drop today (9.55p). Temporary hiccup?Apparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc0

Hello,
Just a bit of profit taking, thats all. It's odd, sometimes great results can see the SP go down, & vice versa, but considering the huge gains in the weeks leading to the results I guess its to be expected. A few more weeks & we'll be nearer to 230 I feel (I hope anyway!).
ACG - I sold these for a small profit, but I still think it's well under valued - I'll be back for more later, but I wanted to top up my shares in LEAD which look very undervalued at the mo, although its an Israeli company so you never know what the market thinks is a fair price.
I'm also looking at a firm that makes womens knickers for a future venture - looks very interetsing0 -
You see it all the time, it's always the "Buy on Rumour, sell on fact" mentality that always surprises me.
Wish I'd bought in the Character when discussing at 138p !!I thought they had peaked then, but fairplay to you. Keep it up.
Still looking for my next best thing !! Keep looking into Biofuels but just can't make the next step and actually buy some, something is jusy holding me back0 -
I hadn't been watching this thread until recently.
Anyway, for the hell of it I've got in at £2.00 per share.
Don't worry, it's a small position that I can afford to lose and I won't take it personally if it goes pear shaped!
I know nothing about shares or horses and am therefore generally unlucky with both.Apparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc0 -

LOL - I've always failed myself at getting into knickers, this is just the lazy mans way.
Steve - you bought some - yikes - I hope you don't end up coming looking for mebut I'm sure it'll be fine. It goes ex dividend on the 2nd May so might pull back a little then, but somehow I don't think it will move much. Character just bought back some more shares at £2-00, so that should be a good sign.
Blistering - I'm not much up on biofuels & the green stuff. They seem quite faddy to me & most look well over priced from my laymans position. Some of them have done well though.
Good luck!0
