I want a aqua blue and silver wedding theme but the chairs at my venue are gold and red tartan!! Im sooo undecided about chair covers. Im hoping they get changed before my day, so I dont have to make a decision!
  • I'm definitely after chair covers, as my venue has mismatched non-plushy chairs and I want it to look like 1 wedding, not like all spare chairs.

If I'd had nice blue/red plushy chairs with the gold/silver edges like many hotels I'd not have bothered.

I'm having them again because the chairs avaliable dont match my colour scheme and it looks naff. I think I paid £375 for 100 chair covers including set up, cleaning & collecting

Depends on the room and the chairs.....ours were a deep red velvet with gold that coordinated perfectly with the room's decor and complemented our colours so I didn't waste £s on unnecessary material.

Oh, and I don't recall anyone commenting, either to me, my brothers, SiLs or BiLs or my friends.

And why would you want photos of your chairs in your wedding album?!

well if u didnt have chair covers why would people comment? They have to be good enough in the first place for people to comment. We didnt have bog standard white ones either but ones that perfectly matched our colours and people commented cos they could see the effort that had gone in! If the chairs your using match really great then yeah i dont see why you need covers but otherwise i see them as part of the decorations.

And when your pictures are taken of your room set up, your guests enjoying themselves etc obviously your chairs are going to be in the pictures too!

I hate chair covers! I dont think they ever look very nice, would much prefer without, assuming the venue chairs were decent enough that is

It's really great that you had chair covers and were happy and got comments.... It was obviously important to you. The issue is that everyone doesn't like the same things or have the same priorities. There's nothing wrong with 'bog standard white' ones or no covers at all. I couldn't tell you the colour scheme from many weddings I've been, but I can tell if they were fun. That is, to me, the priority. Your choices don't have to be everyone's and not getting covers doesn't mean couples don't put in the effort...... Your covers were clearly important to you but you're sailing the line a little far towards suggesting your way is the only way for me.

erm no the whole point of the forum is to share your opinions & give advice, everyone knows that and then its up to people to make their own minds up :-) and of course people having fun is the most important thing but to a lot of brides so are the small details hence why we plan our weddings so much. geez dont need to get emotional about it!
