I was adament I needed these, havent actually seen my venue yet so not 100% sure of the style of chairs they have, but I dont really want covers anymore. If the chairs need it and lend themselves to it, I might buy a tonne of organza off ebay and make some sashes for them
  • Thanks for all of your advice, I think I'm gonna go with black organza table runners, and then either black/ivory sashes or black ivory pull bows on the back of the chairs.

Look atit this way - when the guests are sitting down having their meal - what are they actually going to be looking at? They ain't going to be looking at the back of someone's chair are they!?!?! Really.........

My view - get them if you wish for the inital wow factor if you want as guests enter the room but once their sitting down.........they won't really be noticed, I'm afraid! This is one of the areas that causes weddings to cost sooo much I'm afraid.

I was holding the purse strings for ours and I couldn't justify the cost when the chairs at the venue were ok as they were - would much rather have spent the money on the food and drink..............Depends what you're priorities are........

Go without, once people are sitting down , jackets /, cardies on the back of the chairs you won't see them.

Spend the money on something that means more to you and your hubbie to be.

    Good luck

think this subject is very divided on depends on personal finances and opinions. i have been quoted £237 for 60 chair covers, top table swag and table runners. for me it is important and i want it, so i am getting it! For me it completes the room

Unless they were disgustingly shabby I wouldn't bother. I can't honestly think of a wedding (or any other do come to think of it) where I could have told you afterwards what the chairs were like. To my mind if attention is being focussed on the chairs there's something missing somewhere else. My attention would be on the bride, the flowers, the bridesmaids, the cake...not on the chairs. Even at £2 a chair that's at least £100 I could put towards something else

We're not having chair covers as the chairs are fine as they are, but I do think they pull a room together, especially when they co-ordinate with everything else.

If people want them and can afford them, why shouldn't they have them?!

They have nothing to do with priorities.

    Do we really need cakes?
    Do we really need flowers?
Do we really need honeymoons, favours and big dresses?

No, all we need is the happy couple and 2 witnesses.

    Everything else is just extra.
