Remember as well it does not matter if the loan is settled or still active, your still entitled to that document, then a copy can then be provided for the FOS so they have something to go by if they need to investigate.;)

I think this matter can be confusing, but it was the same for mine, so they must be under the same umbrella sort of thing, but you therefore continue this with the insurer instead, the FOS are able to investigate against the insurer as all were regulated.;)

    LOL, your very welcome.:D:A

Yeah first ask for the document as stated in my above post.;), and when that arrives back, you then send them the questionnaire, try to make them liable as well, if then they say no, you go to the FOS and also send them a copy of that document so they can then continue.:beer:X Cheers.

hi itoo am trying to reclaim ppi from associates/citi from 2001/2003 i have copies of my loan aggreement which citi sent me after a SAR request but have been told by their reclaim team they cannot locate my account or agreement numbers......i find this a litle odd as they sent me my paperwork a couple of months ago......they have now asked me to send copies of the copies i have......whats the chances of getting a succesful reclaim when it is this old.....are they obliged if its over 6 years if you can prove loan included ppi???

    Hi there

If you have paperwork then that is good, but do only send them copies.
I would give it a go, just as long as you do have paperwork which enclosed details of the ppi then you do have a chance of having a successful reclaim.
Complete the FOS questionnaire (this is instead of writing a letter of reclaim) save a copy and send to whoever was responsible for selling the policy from the start, they have 8 weeks in full to respond.

Link here to the guidelines and to the FOS questionnaire further down the page - stage one, good luck and please keep us posted.

Hi Di hope you ok x x
I got my response back from FOS I will put what they said
I would like to confirm that your complaint is not one we are able to deal with.
This is because both citi and metlife(Underwriters, was cumberland) only came covered by our service on 1 dec 2001 and it has been confirmed that we do not have authority to deal with complaints against either businesses that happened befor this date (mine was in feb 2001),
I am sorry that my reply cannot be more positive, my desicision has nothing to do with the merits of your complaint, though it does not affect your rights to take legal action against citi or metlife, if you wish to do so. In pursuing this course of action i reccomend you contact cab for legal advise, this will help you decide whether or not there is any benefit in taking the matter to court.
    Any suggestions hun x
