Executive Lounge Access?

Exactly - you'd have to do a lot of travel in a year to justify that expense, and by then you'd probably have achieved status with an Alliance on merit. It's not something I'd recommend - unless perhaps you were doing a major RTW and were going to be spending a lot of time in airports!
It also doesn't get you access to any arrivals lounge, which is often one of the best uses of airport lounges.
Generally speaking lounges are over-rated, and I don't get the fixation some people have with them.Legal team on standby0 -
The only good ones are BA and Virgin clubhouse at Heathrow for business and first!
The delta club lounge at Orlando is pityfull, however it isnt as bad as the one at Miami airport! To say the americans are bad at lounges is an understatement!!!!!!!!!!0 -
You not been in the US Airways one at Philly then?shoppaholic_returns wrote: »The only good ones are BA and Virgin clubhouse at Heathrow for business and first!

The worst lounge I have ever seen was the Alitalia one at Milan. I've seen smarter lounges in student houses.
There are some good lounges around though. The one at Brussels is great - it has fridges packed full of Belgian beer (I may have smuggled a few bottles out on occasion). The last time I was there was a few weeks ago during the World Cup. Everyone was having such a good time drinking beer and watching football on the TV that nobody wanted to get on the plane. The lounge staff almost had to call security to get us moved.0 -

Worldwide, typically the BA ones are good. The lounges at IAD and JFK are excellent, and put their american counterparts to shame. The 'sleeper flight' concept is a great idea and genuinely allows maximum sleeping on your return flight.
Virgin not to much as they often use 3rd party for outstations (and don't do sleeper flights as far as I know).
However, Asian/Austrialasia lounges tend to be the best overall - I was in the Delta lounge in NRT recently, and was very pleasantly surprised at how good it was (I was expecting a nasty place!). I've never been, but the lounges in SYD are supposed to be outstanding too.Legal team on standby0 -

Yes, the BA "sleeper flight" product is great. We aren't allowed to book Club World for flights to/from the US east coast but now and then I'm lucky enough to get upgraded. It's nice to have a reasonably decent meal in the lounge, have a few drinks then fall asleep before the plane has even taken off. Back in Economy, by time you get to sleep they are waking you for breakfast.
I haven't had too much experience of Asian lounges though I'm sure I got food poisoning from the Thai Air one in Bangkok. I spent more time in the "little room" on the way back than I did in my seat.0
