Vanquis 9 mths old/What next? ANOTHER UPDATE

I've had my Vanquis card 9 months now

Two increases in credit limit from £250 to £500 and then to £1250

All paid on time and showing nine green dots on my credit report.

I'm now looking to move a bit closer to the mainstream market for a better APR card.

My credit file is now good (couple of mobile phone accounts and a creditbuilder loan and a Jacamo accountall paid on time) with the exception of a CCJ that is five and a half years old and due to disappear in January.

What's my best route Sygma or maybe someting more mainstream ?

My bank is Santander but their credit cards are notoriously hard to get (fact admitted by my branch manager)

I would go for sygma card, flybe or a capital one progress
  • Which Sygma would be easier to get the Silver or the Flybe?

What are the typical APRs on them?

There's also a Creation card i think but don't know much about that one.

Either. But alot more people seem to have success with the Silvercard. Like me :)

    They have 3 typical rates. Band A is 16.9% Band B 19.9% and Band C 24.9%

Barclaycard may be a good option too, both comapnies search Equifax.
  • Barclaycard looks a non runner to me being a previous bankrupt even though it was over six years ago and is now off my credit file

Their site says any history of bankruptcy!

bit more info if it helps

earn approx £35k on the electoral roll at my current address a year and my previous address six years.

Just sailed through a credit check for Tesco/O2 mobile

Don't really need the credit just trying to make things a little nicer if i want any credit in the future.

    Thanks

Ok, yeah, you may get accepted, but when they do their final checks Barclaycard will probably decline the application.

If I were you I'd definitely try Sygma next.

Go for FlyBe or the Creation Card.

Good luck and keep us posted. :)
  • Sutton thanks for the advice

i notice you said Flybe or Creation but you have a Silver what's the difference

    Thanks
  • Just applied for Silver and was declined

    Referred me to Vanquis lol

Will ring them later and see if i can appeal

    Any other options?
