    Hi,
we went to legoland on the other weekend on a sunday and monday. The first day we used a 241 voucher and nectar points for our daughter and at the end of the day purchased next day tickets for £10 per adult and £5 per child. So still doing next day tickets but i did have to go and ask at guest services as no signs advertising this.
If you are going get the q-bot we got it for 2 people so that we could alternate who went on the rides with our DD whilst the other stayed with our one year old. We got on rides very quickly and managed to do everything each day including multiple rides on dragon and jolly rocker.
The wasps didnt bother us that much, only on 2nd day did they botehr the refillable cup we had got on day one! Pirate show is well worth seeing.

    Well, we have been.

Q bot was so worth it!! We arrived at 9:20am and walked in. Had seen a 20% discount in the park for Q Bot so hadn't booked online prior to going.

We were on the rides by 9:30am!!! Yes majority were open and we stayed until it shut at 8pm!!

Q Bot was fb as ever. We actually chose to queue for 2 rides that were not Q bot but as we hadn't done any other queueing didn't mind this.

The wasps were not too bad however it had been light showers during the morning so hopefully had scared them away!! :)

I took packed lunch and snacks so didn't mind paying for an ice cream and then as we were there so late paid for tea.
Restaurants more than happy to fill my water bottle up for free:money:
And for the first time ever there was NO queue to get out:j Couldn't believe it.

In summary Q Bot a must!!
    Take packed lunch and snacks.
Take your own water and get it filled up.
Go on a not so nice forecast day so the wasps are at a minimum and less people around :j

  • We went on Monday & Tuesday and had Q-Bots for both days...they're an absolute godsend - even though you don't actually get on the rides any quicker , you can at least be doing other things rather than standing in a queue with bored kids

Only thing is you do get some dirty looks from those who have been queuing for an hour , cos it looks like you just waltz up and push in front of them..., which isn't actually true of course

(oh yeah , and as child359 posted above - make sure you take your own food and drink - it's £2.00 for a small bottle of water !)

I would say that when it isn't peak time like school holidays it can be a good idea to spend a little while in the park before you decide to pay for q bots, we went on a sunday in June (when the imagination festival was on) expecting it to be packed and it was really quiet! Longest we queued all day was about 10 minutes and that was for Laser Raiders felt really sorry for those with Q Bots that day, all that cost for no benefit on such a quiet day, no evil looks for them more pitying smirks, lol!

The wasps are dreadful, we had to eat our food in the car with the windows shut.

We went to Legoland on Wednesday - first decent day's weather in a while, and the staff said it was busier than usual for the summer, as if everyone was waiting for the rain to stop, and all came at once!

We didn't know about Q-BOT beforehand, so wondered why people seemed to be jumping the queue to go straight onto the rides.

Next time, we'll definitely get the entrance fee with clubcard and then pay for Q-Bot. We must have spent half the day in queues. One good thing though was that the queues get slightly less after tea-time. So with the park staying open until 8pm, our boys were able to run around and go on most things they wanted to do before they went home. The only one they missed out on was Pirate Falls, because the queues remained constantly high throughout the day and evening.

We took advantage of the online sale on the Legoland website, which is in place until 22nd August. You can book your ticket online and save 25% off day tickets. You print your tickets off at home. And we booked through a cashback site, so got £5 back that way too.

We had several 2 for 1 offers for Merlin attractions, but when we read the small print on the back, found that the exclusions included the whole of August.

If you go, make sure you take a picnic - the prices were really high. £1.70 for a cup of tea - in a small cardboard cup with UHT milk! Cuppas from train stations in London are cheap in comparison - and you get twice as much there!

Burger and chips at the cafe near Pirate Falls was around £7.00 or £7.50 and didn't look any better than a McDonalds.

There were plenty of wasps around, but didn't bother us too much, thankfully. It didn't rain, but wasn't particularly hot, so maybe they were a bit dopey.

Watch out for the Lego shop on the way out. My older son, who's quite good at money saving, spotted that most of the Lego kits were at least a pound or two more than the high street or Amazon. My youngest son, who had his pocket money ready to buy a couple of Lego sets, was convinced to hold onto his cash and buy the sets from Amazon when he got home instead. :money:

We also bought our car parking tickets online from the Legoland website (can't believe Legoland charge you extra to park!!!). We paid £2 online, which I think is a couple of pounds cheaper than paying on the day.
Big thanks to Martin Lewis for helping us start to sort out our finances!!!:A

And thank you to all posters! You're wonderful!

I have an autistic son so we get the hand stamps (exit pass) to be able to jump the queue, if we didn't have these I would so buy the Q bot if it was a busy day.
  • Hi - I'm trying to understand this Q-bot thingy, but am still a bit shaky. Going to Legoland next week with hubby and four children and dreading it! I can't really afford to pay for a q-bot for all four of them, so could I pay for two and any of the four use it? Also, would I be able to be 'one of the two' should one of them need accompanying or do parents have to be paid for seperately? What happens if then three of them want to go on the same ride? Do I have to just reserve the ride again for the other two. What happens if a ride has an hour's waiting time, do I just cancel it on the q-bot and try for another one with a less time (is an hour being optomisitic in waiting time?). Many thanks for your help - brain still mushed after a wet week in Wales, in a caravan, all together, aggghhh!!!!

Ooh not sure on the only getting it for some in your party but sure someone will be along soon to advise on that part
    however
if you have only paid for 2 people on Q bot then only two can go on. If you want the tird to go on you will have to reserve it again once the first two have been on.
In August you will probably have an hour wait at least for popular rides even on Q Bot however if you do what we did and arrive at the park for 9:30am a lot of rides open then and queuing times are at a minimum therefore we had been on 5 rides by 11am!!

Using Q bot we went on Pirate falls 4 times, The Dragon 4 times, Laser raiders 3 times, Jolly Roger, Spinning spider, chopper squadron, Extreme team, Desert Chase, Viking River Splash 2 times and the ride on splash thing (can't remember its name near where the Jungle ride used to be), driving school, boating school.
Caught the show whilst eating lunch and spent an hour in Mini Land oh and had tea before we left at 8pm!
We actually chose to queue for 2 rides that were not on Q bot as mine really wanted to go on them.

I would have a look at what rides you want prior to going and therefore you can be prepared which ones to Q Bot for.
Also a little tip is as soon as they have zapped your Q Bot whilst you are waiting for the ride to start reserve your next ride so some of your queuing time is spent whilst you are enjoying a ride anyway :)

We didn't have to pay for car parking but we did have an annual pass so that could have been why.
They charge £5 parking at Alton Towers!! Its disgusting I know!!!!

Hi, we went to Legoland last weekend (Saturday) I had two Tesco vouchers, and another voucher from raring to go which I wasn't sure whether would be valid or not. Using this got the remaining 2 members of the family in for £14.50!!! I asked the guy whether he thought I needed Q bot and he said not as it was not that busy - the longest we queued was 20 minutes, which was for the pirate ship. The longest queue was for the rollercoaster as the dragon ride was shut. I would say depending on the age of the children it is worth risking not buying the Qbot. We got there about 9.45 and left about 6.45 having had an utterly fantastic day without spending too much time queuing. Enjoy yourselves!!!

Do you have to purchase a £2 parking ticket from the ticket booths then go back to your car.

I think it is a bit of a cheek they are now charging for parking!

In other words would it be easier to buy the £2 parking ticket online beforehand?

Also preferred parking, is it worth it for £6? Thanks very much.
