Q-Bot at Legoland

I am considering using Q-Bot at Legoland and wanted to hear other people'e experiences of this. Also can you purchase this if you are paying with tesco clubcard points for the admission tickets (I mean purchase the Q-Bot with cash not points)?

Any advice on how to maximise it's potential would also be appreciated.

    Hi there,
I don't know if you still need this info but we went twice to legoland last year (annual pass) and one time didn't use the Q-Bot and one time did.
At that time it was £10 per person.

I would definitely recommend it. We went on double the amount of rides in one day than we did in the 2 day trip we had done earlier in the year!!

In fact in the end my 7 yr old refused to go on any ride unless it was Q-Bot.

We are going in just over a weeks time and I have just looked to book Q-Bot to find they now do Q-Bot and Q-Bot express!!!

Q bot has gone up to £15 per person and Q-Bot express is £40 per person!!!!!

I think as there are just two of us going it is still worth it however it starts to get expensive being more than that and it also depends at how good your children are at waiting!!! :)

I'm off there tomorrow and have bought standard Q-Bot online. We're getting our park tickets with clubcard vouchers so figured it's not actually that bad paying £45 extra as there are three of us.

I'll report back here tomorrow or tues on my experience.

On the whole my son is okay at queuing but I figure you'd get more out of the day with a Q-Bot. Also I hate queueing as I don't always ride.
  • Well, we had our trip to Legoland yesterday. Planned to get there for 0930 but with m25 traffic arrived at 1145!!!! The park was open until 2000 so we didn't panic.

We picked up our reserved qbot on arrival and selected our first ride with a 30 min wait (driving school) by the time we had walked there it was time to get on.

The longest we had to wait was 1hr 10mins for the busiest ride which was pirate falls (the queue looked hideous). While waiting we checked out miniland and two other rides and paid a visit to the loo!

Qbot absolutely saved our day, we got onto all the rides we wanted within one minute of arriving for our alloted time (with some filthy looks from those who had literally queued for hours).

Worth absolutely every penny we paid.

One bad point, I don't think we will ever be able to go to a theme park again without a similar gadget/system. 10/10
  • I HIGHLY recommend the Q-Bot, I took my kids there last Sunday (having previously been there before without using the Q-Bot). We got there at 10am a didnt really have to use it, but around 12pm when it started to get busy "then thats when it becomes a fantastic thing to have". The last time we went didnt go on all of the rides purely because of the waiting times "having 2 kids stand in a queue for over an hour to go on a ride that lasts 30 seconds is a BIG nightmare". With the Q BOT we went on every single ride in the park and more than once.
Tip for you - when you reserve a ride you dont actually have to rush over to it when your Q BOT vibrates to let you know you can go to the ride, e.g you can reserve a ride for 12pm and go to it any time after - but you cant reserve 2 rides at the same time.
The only bad point was that Lego Land has a serious Wasp problem "they have even put signs up to say they are trying to deal with it" which spoilt the day a little, especially when we were eating lunch.
Definately get the Q BOT "for the sake of your sanity - and for the kids enjoyment" its worth the extra money.
Also buy a box or 2 of Persil "they are offering a 2 for 1 deal - saving you the entrance fee for one of your kids, buy two boxes if there are 2 adults and 2 kids going" that saving alone covers the cost of a Q BOT.

I'd agree about the wasp problem, it was hideous this Monday. Don't even consider a picnic in the park itself or eating food on the go unless you want a swarm of wasps after you. Sad thing is I'm not exagerrating. Don't buy the free refill drinks bottles as they are a wasp magnet. Take bottled water, the kiosks will quite happily top them up with tap water.

At 2000 we were sat in the car with the windows/doors closed and there were wasps trying to get into the car as we ate!!!

I have to say I don't particulary relish the wasp problem :( I am now petrified of them after being stung for the first time since a child last year. You forget how much it hurts don't you!!
My DS is a lot better than me fortunately.

  • Hi
I'm going to legoland later in August, on a Sunday, its my 4yr old's birthday and we're taking him, and his 2 yr old brother, so will only be going on the little stuff, any worth in Q Bot? I thought not initially?
  • completly agree with the wasps! we were there last week, my cup was brand new, and they were swarming to it! Im sure they have learned the shape of it rather then the smell;) !!!!
    is officially a GLEEK

Personally I think you will be fine without the QBot

We went to Legoland last Wednesday and I so wish we'd gone for the Qbot. We paid for it with Tesco vouchers so although we'd have had to pay £60 for the Qbots it would have been so worth it. The queues were horrendous, even for the piddling little rides (like the spinning spider - ie, glorified teacups). People were getting dirty looks when they were coming to the front of the queue, but thems the rules!

There was a wasp problem certainly, although we managed to eat hotdog and chips in the cafe at the bottom of pirate falls and didn't get too deluged with them. I'm terrified of them but I coped so it can't have been all that bad! The queuing was worse than the wasps!

    Jxx
And it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end
