AUTOMOTIVE thread

Is there any chance of an Automotive thread ?

After a house the car is a families most expensive purchase. During the past 5 years I've bought and sold 3 new cars with a UK retail value of £36,000.

By purchasing imports from Europe in two cases and shopping around for the third I actually paid £27500, which is a major saving.

Yes 2nd hand is always cheaper but by shopping around you can drive new for the same almost the same price.

My most recent purchase was a car with an rrp of £9995 and I paid £6500, ok I had to travel 260 miles to the dealer and settle for red instead of silver but great savings cant be ignored.

I would expect the thread to include tyre, petrol and service price postings as well as bargain priced cars and tips on how to play dealers off against one another.

Thanks
