anyone else still waiting for their order to be despatched? I rang M&S and the lady assured me that everything was OK and I'd get the order tomorrow as stated on my account..I seriously doubt it!!!!
  • I collected my order instore today and everything was fine apart from they forgot to give me a parcel with only a pair of pj's in - I had ordered a overnight bag and a le creduet pan & griddle, & some books, so p'js were seperate. Luckily they are at customer services safe and sound though, phewww.... all my items arrived (lucky I know) and I even was cheeky today and brought a few books instore that had been reduced further and will take others back - it was £5 in total difference, and £5 is £5!!! Dont give up hope folks......

Lucky you!!! I placed an order at 7.03am on the first day of the sale and only ordered 8 things in total and asked for them to be delivered to my local store for me to pick up tomorrow. I have had 3 e-mails since then and everthing has been cancelled as 'out of stock' except one thing which should be in store tomorrow....(although I'll believe it when I see it!!) I think it's disgusting. I can't understand how everything has become unavailable. Do they not 'save' my order that I placed to send out to me as requested or do they only send me the stock out if it is available when they would despatch it (ie yesterday - 6 days after the order was placed) :(
I think I will just stick to Next in future at least everything I ordered has turned up!!

I think there's general agreement that if someone else ordered the same items, but managed to get a quicker delivery date, they'll get priority. And you'll get the cancellations.

Unfair, but that's how M&S online operates - because it can.

I ordered my stuff just after 10pm on the wednesday, by pure fluke just happened to be at computer, so may be that I got in quick but did only do store collection... hope your item is there and worth it though....

it's not agreed among those of us who received our items with later delivery dates after they had gone out of stock!

The big problem with the website is that it's not real-time updated...

Also, there is a big misunderstanding about web ordering, many people think that if they put something in their basket, then it's theirs even if they don't pay for it until 5 or 10 minutes later...and during the Sale (when the site receives tens of thousands of hits every second), it's a mistake to wait even 1 minute....

Does this mean I can put something in my basket now, and expect it to stay there for several months?

The way I operate is to find everything I want a few days in advance in my basket, and when the prices change, put the order in for the items that have been reduced.

This avoids me having to search for things once the sale has begun...

I think it's rotten that stock is not set aside for those who ordered it first. I stayed up ALL night and ordered well over £200 worth of stuff, and my order was never despached. I cancelled the whole lot yesterday and just reordered the few bits that I still could. It's a disgusting way to treat paying customers. I've never experienced anything like it anywhere else!

I ordered the night before the sale started around 9 pm and only 2 things have since gone out of stock and which isn't bad but even ordering that early you would expect to get the items. I got an email 4 days after to say i wasn't getting the items.
i did 2 orders, had some bits delivered to home as they were to big to go to store and they came very quick. I picked up the rest in store to day,all there.
:)Mummy to 2 wonderful boys :)
Want to be fit for 30 not fat at 30
