I will plan it with them and they can help decide the jobs. I feel we all live here and all need to support each other. Golly dont I go on???

Hey all, sorry Lisa thought I read niece, must have been the early hour!
Had a busy day at work and then went to Aldi and got some bits to do a veggie chilli in my SC tonight.
Been carp with snacking lately so going to soak chickpeas to do Weezl's hummus tomorrow to have with oatcakes at work. Am also going to buy some sesame seeds to roast and have with soy sauce and a bit of chilli, rather than guzzling crisps!
Looking forward to an evening of BB and chopping veg. Rock n roll!'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
Oh dear, had a right old to-do here earlier. Not very OS but wondered what you would make of it. Basically someone battered on the door of my room. When I went out (which took a minute as I was on the phone at the time), the landlady was there going daft at the other lodger because he had left something under the grill with the grill door shut, which of course had made smoke. I don't know how long he had left it but it wasn't burnt to a crisp or actually on fire so couldn't have been too long, but she was really going mad.
The thing is if he had just abandoned it for a while with the grill door shut then he's an idiot yes, but I am hoping the only reason she knocked on my door is because she didn't know who it was, not because she wanted me to be there while she had a go at him for it. I also now think that she will want to speak to me about it some time soon while he isn't there, the thing is I just don't want to be involved at all.
And then the people I was on the phone to wanted to know all about what had been going on because they had heard the commotion, and I didn't really want to properly say or get into discussing it because I thought the landlady might be able to hear but they kept on asking things! To hell with it all, if she wants to speak with me about it I shall just tell her to do what she thinks best and I'd rather not be involved, and if she says anything about hearing me talking about it on the phone I will tell her so it was that the people I was speaking to were asking because they could hear her! Do you think that's best?
Why did this have to happen? I'm all irritable and grumpy and stressed, and on edge about it now, I don't like "incidents". Need to relax all over again now so I can go to sleep, plus I was tired tonight anyway. Sorry to go on BTW.0 -
Good evening you lot.
Cupofchai, I don't know what to suggest, I suppose I would tell the landlady (does she live in?) that its none of my business, and she'll have to take it up with the other party, and if you wish to tell the people on the phone, that's your business, and if she does question it, I'd tell her it was a private conversation, and you were just letting your friend know that they had no need to be concerned for your wellbeing, as they'd overheard the commotion.
I have had a good day today, went to visit the rellies and have left my boys there, as I need to go back at 5am and take them to the airport, and didn't want to waken the boys at that hour! Kitchen is nearly sorted, I am about to put the bins out, and wash the floors, then off up the stairs to Bedfordshire!
Hope all are well, sleep tight,

Thanks Jackie, she does live in and I think that is what I will do, just ignore the whole thing and if she brings it up to me (which she might not anyway but I've a feeling she might) then simply say I don't want to be involved as I don't think it's any of my business. If she keeps on I'll just make some excuse to escape like I was about to go to the loo or something :P
Just had to go getting it off my chest to various people so I can relax a bit, you know how it is when something makes you go "Argh", for want of a better description!0 -
