Right, I am kicking my own backside into gear, I have no energy this morning, think its a sugar hangover from my meringue frenzy last night. :( If you see me on here before 4pm, tell me off! :D

I am thinking of a little ebaying, have not sold for a few years and wonder if worth it but will have a look and see. Have to think of ways to boast holiday fund, should have already had it started.

    Hi all,

Hope you are all doing ok,(((((hugs))))) if you're not.We had a quiet Sunday(bit hungover really:o) as we were out with friends Sat night.Went to a Spanish restaurant & it was really nice.We hadnt been out for a while and felt like a treat.

I have harvested my potatoes this morning- there's about a pound :rotfl:so not sure if its worth the effort really.I got the seed pots from P/land and they took ages to sprout- last year I just stuck in some ordinary spuds that were sprouting, and they did better.Anyway I shall enjoy them tomorrow.

This morning I washed the white cotton I got to finish off the red/black/white quilt,so will iron that later, and may do a bit.Its a bit humid here though, might feel too hot in my sewing room.I might be better off weeding outside, ground is soft now after all the torrential rain.

Going to warm up the leftover cauli cheese for my lunch, and then ring my bro-they're off on hols on Wed.Saw my other bro on Sat-he and Sil dropped off DS2s birthday card.DS was very pleased with the T shirts I got him in the sale, was spoilt for choice when he went out:)

I got a nice surprise in the post-an old school friend wants to have a little re-union lunch at her house next weekend, prob be about 6 of us.The last time we had a get together was 5 years ago ,in the year we all turned 50 so that should be nice.

Taplady- Louie looks adorable, and Candy, hope your dogs ears are better soon.My big lad got told off by DH as he pinched some sausages off the worktop left from tea, must have smelled too good to resist :rotfl:He has these little 'episodes' from time to time,I put it down to him being rescued, and not being treated well before we got him, poor lad.

    Afternoon all.....

I haven't been here for a long time (in fact, having just looked, not properly since last August ) but thought it was time to make a return :money: Lovely to still see some familiar names too :)

So an update - I graduated from Uni last summer, then had some time at home (recovering!), before starting what turned out to be the job from hell. I got out of that at the end of March & am now very lucky to work 4 days a week, in a job where I am home-based & essentially run my own week (and it's currently very slow-paced...). It's taken till now to really start to feel like "me" again.

I want to start to enjoy making my home nice again & feeling remotivated to get back into cooking/baking, so I've been having a good read of the ShabbyChic thread & also the "It's Tough Now" ones too, along with others on the OS board. I want (need) to do major decluttering as we'll be having a change-round of the bedrooms in the next 6 weeks (when my oldest baby leaves home for Uni). That will give me a room that can become my office/craft room so I can start crafting again :) I also seem to have been spending ridiculous amounts of money in supermarkets, standiing there wondering "what shall we have for dinner tonight", despite having a freezer full of meat - so I seriously need to start meal-planning too. My youngest DD (13) is turning into a good little cook though & the other week made chicken breasts stuffed with cheese & wrapped in pancetta, followed by a puff-pastry apple slice (having been watching Barefoot Contessa), so she will be involved too.

On the positive side too I seem to have unintentionally done quite well with reducing the bills, got a £150 refund from EON & halved my DD (and am STILL in credit by £100 at the moment!), had a payment holiday with BT last month & that DD has also dropped by £6 a month. I have a budget spreadsheet until October NEXT year & a plan to be able to overpay my mortgage by £100-£150 a month, plus save an equal amount (the boiler fund...).

So, I'm back & WILL get on-track again - I'm also being realistic in not trying to do everything at once, but baby-steps & I'll get there.

    Hello everyone,

dull and very warm here so havent bothered with the washing as ive had to put two loads in the TD this morning already.

My DS2 is 3 today - still being a little so and so, I stupidly hoped he would wake up no longer a terrible two!

Not much OS as family coming for tea and Ds2 has requested a chinese. His birthday cake is really good, bought a big chocolate sponge and some Ben 10 cake toppers from ebay, much cheaper than Ds1 Ben 10 cake and a tip which i was given on this thread in May - so thankyou

We got tomatoes on all but 2 f our tomato plants - going on holiday next week, must drill into sister and /or mum that they must water them! Last year they didnt and it wasnt pretty...

    Take care xx
    Mum, wife and dinnerlady!

Afternoon everyone - good to see you feeling great Mrs M-H and congrats on the niece!

Have been up and about since the wee small hours getting the children off to school, recycling the glass, taking things to the charity shop (and buying a few things too :) ); then I came home and decided that I ought to get my b** into gear - so I have packed three large boxes (in preparation for our forthcoming move), have demolished a set of shelves so they can be stored in the garage; sorted out all the kids outside toys and thrown out all the broken ones.

I have also bought a lawnmower from ebay (ours broke yesterday and can't be repaired) and got an old school desk for my eldests room - total under £60!! Desperate to pick up the lawnmower as need to cut the grass before it rains again. Hoping to have dinner with some friends on Wednesday - and the charity shop is open again tomorrow, so will have to have another sort through to see what I can donate!!
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.
