Thank you to all of the previous posters for their helpful comments.
We live in London and having had two local companies out to quote thought we'd try searching on the internet. I have to say that we were more than a little dubious as buying a camera or perfume online is one thing but a house full of carpets is something entirely different.
We looked at all of the websites mentioned previously and found the prices to be far more reasonable than buying locally however only one of them offered a national fitting service. I sent all of my requirements to Hammond Hill who then emailed me a detailed quotation and after a couple of subsequent phone calls we arranged for them to come out and measure.
The guy who came down (Chris) wasn't at all pushy, was very knowledgable and gave my husband & I some very sound advice. We also had quite a bit in common as Chris and his wife are also Foster Carers and my husband and I fostered for over twenty years. We agreed on a price and a couple of weeks later their delightful fitters came down and spent three days completely fitting out our home.
I have been very pleased with my dealings with them and would say that their carpet prices are very competitive, they were professional and trustworthy and although I could have probably got it fitted for less, I don't think that it would have been to the same standard nor would we have had it project managed so well.
Thank you MoneySavingExpert, what to buy next.......0 -
I thought I just had to comment on the service that I have just had from this company. Firstly let me say that this is the first time that I have ever bought carpets over the internet! It's one thing buying something small from eBay but to buy a carpet! But I had looked around my local carpet shops and seen some Cormar sensation which I have to say is beautiful but a little to expensive for my purse. So I thought why not look at the internet. I couldn't believe how many businesses are selling carpet online. Anyway after a lot of searching I came across Ulovecarpets who were selling this carpet at nearly half the price of my local shop. I started to place my order online after being assured by looking at their reviews but thought just to put my mind at rest I would give them a call. All I can say is they were ever so polite, new exactly all about the carpet and even gave me advice on some things I had not thought about. I placed my order over the phone with them and, long story short I received my carpet and underlay (which I got a free upgrade with, thank you). It arrived 3 days after I ordered it. I couldn't believe it. I even got their premium delivery service and the courier bought it into my home for me and all this for free delivery. So thankyou for this as I have to say I was a little bit wary of purchasing online, but I will be back to buy again when I need my next carpet.0
