We don't need to do it perfectly - good enough is exactly that GOOD ENOUGH.

  • I think they are abridged. Though it doesn't say so on this particular package, I was looking at some of the individual titles in Borders the other day they said abridged. Having said that, they are all pretty long - e.g James and The Giant Peach = 2 CDs of 75 minutes and 79 minutes. Charlie + Chocolate Factory = 3 CDs of 54, 49 and 56 minutes. So I'm guessing any editing will be pretty minimal.
Also if you go back to Charlie and the Chocolate factory it really has some long and tedious passages that I have to skip over if I am reading them to the kids.No offence Roald.:o
  • thanks mine arrived today.

Most of the stories would be ok. There are so many he'll probably be old enough to listen to them all by the time he gets through the more suitable ones!
Anyone know why no other company is selling these and the ISBN is not recognised anywhere including WHSmith and Penguin?

Too old ?! Are you kidding? These stories are aimed at 7+ so I'm sure he will like them if he likes stories.
