Internet banking: How sad are you?

How many of you rate their bank or savings account based on ease of use and looky nicey bits of their internet banking? I rate it quite highly and find I check my accounts almost daily! If I can help it never visit my branch – are you the same?
I’m with Natwest and much prefer the way they neatly lay everything out on the first page showing all the accounts (handy if you have more than one). My wife is with Barclays which I’ve looked at and don’t rate it as highly. Also Natwest allow you to transfer up to £10k a day whereas Barclays only £1k a day. Even worse we have Cahoot which is rubbish, ironic considering it’s an internet bank!

Yup I'm the same - happy with Natwest's internet banking. I haven't been to my branch in about 10 years - I've no need to.The ability of skinny old ladies to carry huge loads is phenomenal. An ant can carry one hundred times its own weight, but there is no known limit to the lifting power of the average tiny eighty-year-old Spanish peasant grandmother.0

HSBC is quite good - been with them long before t'web was invented... Has the facility to link accounts, pay bills etc and avoids my pet hate** by having interest rates in one place.
** the one thing that annoys me about some banks/societies is when you have to select each account individually to see the interest rates. Can you imagine going into a supermarket and having to take each item to the checkout to find out how much it costs?
Secondary rant - when I know I want (eg) a 3 metre network cable, why do some sites insist that I have to navigate through Networking, then Wired Networking, then Cables, then Colour, then Length (exaggeration, but I'm sure some of you know what I mean). This like going into a shop where everything is in a different room... grrrr.0 -
I am with Barclays online banking and have never had a problem with it. Its easy to use. Your lucky to be wanting to transfer up to 10k a day.I came into this world with nothing and I'm gonna leave with nothing.0

Oooooo.. I agree with the 1k max with Barclays is a pain.. but I like there website the best.. here's my top five!!
1) Barclays (was the first I used so may be why!)
2) Natwest - have 2 accounts from this and easy to use. I don't like having to renter you passnumber for new S/O as I have a memory of a fish!
3) HSBC.. only had a credit card with them.. but liked the online message as was always quickly answered.
4) Amex - all good but working out your current balance seems confusing for some reason!! Love there text alerts though and pay online feature, but you can only use it every 3 days.. or something silly like that!
5) A & L - it's horrid! I don't get the random pic and phrase.. I'm not sure what it's on about. Plus it lists and old current account I closed down years ago which means it get's alittle confusing!!!!

NatWest get the thumbs up from me.

One Account, incomprehensable
Barclays and their 1K - Mum had the problem, so phoned to do a transfer needed phone password hadn't a clue so sent a cheque, got cashed and not credited by the reciever. Called Barclays and spoke to an idiot who didn't seem to realise quite why she was so anxious to see a copy of the cheque, she eventually said to him "so it wouldn't worry you if you had 9 thousand pounds missing?".The best things in life are NOT free - but they sure are cheaper with MSE!:j0 -
I only check accounts when I need to pay or transfer something..... I find A & L site very good especially the new quick pay feature they just added also the Nationwide site is excellent as I can check and pay my Credit card and see my Mortgage diminishing month by month like it when I make an overpayment and the amount oweing goes down and down.....:T#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

Well - banked with a few banks in my time so in no particular order:
1) A&L - nasty colour interface. Hated it at first. I've persisted with it and now there are only two really annoying things - the fact that not all DDs show up (ones created on paper apparently don't) and the fact you can't delete payees.
2) Lloyds TSB - neater interface. Most bits nice and simple. One very annoying thing - you click on the name of an account and rather than take you to the account - it asks you if you want to rename it.
3) Natwest. Agreed - clean interface, very simple. Love the system where you set up a payee for a gas bill by selecting the company and just entering your reference number
4) Nationwide - confusing at first. Took me a while to find the features I wanted. But don't have to log on much unless abroad because I can download to MS Money in the background.
5) Cahoot. I have to say, contrary to the OP - I loved cahoot's interface. Neat, clean, sensible. My only complaint was the fact that it only showed 5 DDs per page.
6) ING Direct. Exceptionally simple - but then it didn't have to do much and has got better and better over time.
7)Halifax. Feels a bit like 'My First Bank' with the blue bars and buttons. Hate the 'roll number' stuff - I just want to know my account number. Was fine for a credit card - but find the savings accounts I have there now confusing to operate - perhaps just haven't spent enough time there.
8) AmEx. Hmm. Bit indifferent about this. Annoying I can't see my current balance at login.
9) Mint - you'd have thought they'd have borrowed from the sister company Natwest - but no - they create a much more complex site. Nicely done Mint(!)
10) Egg - The original release of the egg site was ok. The newer version is better. Like the seperation of spending on the Egg Money card.
11) HSBC - can't say too much - only a CC holder. No complaints though.
12) Abbey - same as HSBC really.
13) Intelligent Finance - now there's a TERRIBLE interface. YUK!
That's it I think ...

I only have online banking with one bank (Bank of Scotland/Halifax) and am impressed with the interface they offer, easy to use

Say they are improving it too....0 -
I check all of my accounts every day.
I use LTSB, A&L, HSBC, Icici, First Direct and Egg. One dormant Barclays account too.
All the websites are pretty good in my onion.Happy chappy0 -
Was with First Direct and their internet banking was ok but nothing excellent. Now with Lloyds TSB which is fair better in my view. As long as its easily laid out, and I know how and where to look to do the things I need thats all I care about0
