You have wandered off on this.
My point is that there was 1 P&C parking spot and lots of available disabled spots. Yet the blue badge driver used the last P&C spot.
Some possible answers have been mentioned on the discussion so far.
You have not understood what I was getting at so I will move on.
The point is that P & C spaces are a joke. You do not need to park near a supermarket just cos you have kids (and I speak from experience here!). You do not have to have a wider space just cos you have kids (again, I speak from experience here). The disabled person may have parked in the P & C space as it was possibly nearer the supermarket (this is the case in my nearest supermarket and I think it is ridiculous that the spaces are nearer than the disabled).
My opinion, for what its worth, is that anyone unfortunate enough to have a disability should be allowed to pretty much park where they choose at a supermarket if it makes life even slightly easier for them. Why on earth would anyone begrudge a disabled person the chance to make life a little easier for themselves?0 -

You don't need a blue badge to park in a disabled bay on the public highway either, as the bays are advisory and not enforceable.0 -

I think that only applies to disabled bays that are provided for people to park outside their own front door. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
If the bay is an on-street Blue Badge parking bay, it is an offence for anyone to park there without displaying a valid Blue Badge.
It is an offence to park a vehicle which is not displaying a badge in an on-street Blue Badge parking bay. If you see this, you should report it to a traffic warden or parking enforcement officer, the local police or the local council.
Police officers, traffic wardens, local authority parking attendants and civil enforcement officers have the right to inspect Blue Badges.
It is an offence to refuse or fail to produce a badge for inspection, without reasonable excuse. This offence carries a maximum fine of £1,000.
The Blue Badge Scheme does not apply to off-street car parks, for example supermarket car parks.
Apart from local council car parks, most are likely to be privately owned and managed by the individual business. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

Couldnt agree more. Anyone who needs a wider space to get a child out of a car should re think their manual dexterity skills. Having a child is not a need for adaption as is the case with a disability.0 -
As has been mentioned before P&C spaces are merely a marketing gimmick.0

Well i dont drive i walk to the supermarket with my daughter hav done from when she was born. I occasionaly use public transport. What iwant to know is when is the supermarket gonna give me something (an others like me that dont drive). Maybe we could hav our own tills, special ones for only people who dont drive an get 'special parking spots'.
and im sorry most ppl i see with disabled badges who park in the disabled parking dont deserve them.MoneySpendingExpert0 -

Based on what exactly?
based on observations such as badges being used fo people who are obviously not disabled, used by 'disabled' people who are so disabled that they can manage to carry their heavy loads of shopping with little problems. Ive seen someone who had a badge for mobility issues but was capable of running up a few flights of stairs.
Ive seen people who should have one/use one that haven or are unable to use one due to the above taking spaces.
Not everyone who deserves tyem get them. Whilst others do.MoneySpendingExpert0
