IMO some do. Not all, but some.

Who are you to decide who does & doesn't need a disabled parking space?

It's not silly at all. Parents with kids have far more options of where to park than a disabled person. We managed to park when our kids were small before P & C spots and managed perfectly well, even in tight spots. Maybe we are just better at parking than some!

the ability to park has nothing to with the space required to get out though does it? not sure what your point is.

A disabled person can be fantastic at parking in the tightest of spots, but if they then have no physical space to get out then what?

I confess, my husband is disabled and has a blue badge and today we parked in a parent and child spot at M & S. We did have the grandchildren with us.

that wouldnt be a problem as you are using the space provided for a reason.

Jeezo, get off your high horse. I just said in my opinion.

Maybe you're just getting antsy because you're one of the ones who doesnt really need to use disabled spaces but do? :)

Like i said earlier, someone with ADD is technically disabled...........do you honestly think that they need a parking space closer to the shops or a bigger space in order to give them the same access to the shops that a normal person has?

The DDA is about giving them the same access any average person would have so they can lead a normal life - something they are entitled to do like everyone else. Not about giving them a special entitlement above other people when they dont need it.

Jeremy Kyle would have a field day on here. I think someone opened a big can of worms.

Talk about judgemental! it's not up to you to decide whether someone needs a disabled space. Or are you a doctor now?

Both your legs work OK, you can pick somewhere else with room to get you/kids out.... they can't.

I always choose to park a long way from the shop door as it reduces the idiots that can bang your car with their door.

Do i need to be a doctor to say that in my opinion anyone who is able bodied (basically that they have no problems with mobility) doesnt need to use a disabled parking space that is there for those who are not able bodied? Nope, pretty sure i'm entitled to my opinion whether you like it or not. While in some respects we have come along in leaps and bounds with trying to make sure people are treated equally, in some respects we are far too pc.

No, being disabled should not automatically entitle you to use a disabled parking space. Being disabled in the way that your mobility is affected............yes. There are all different types of disabilities.

And i've never once said it was up to me.................i am stating my opinion...........i am entitled to my opinion. In fact, i'm forming one about you right now that i hit the nail on the head earlier when i said you were probably one of those people who use disabled spaces when they have no genuine need to do so and by doing so, cause a great inconvenience to someone who does and who cannot access the shops without one!

How dare you! I actually don't use disabled parking spaces - even though I actually need. I would have a genuine need to. Or is having severe sight loss in both eyes not good enough?
