Personally I would keep a paper copy or at least some notes as well just in case the problems they're having mean that the data disappears when they fix it! :)

That sounds like a sensible plan! I've got basic notes but I'll scribble out a few more comments tomorrow. Can't be fussed now - packing for a car boot tomorrow.

Is there anyone who hasn't done the Test for a Pizza place on Gap? (Someone let me know please if this is more than I should have said and I will change it to food place!). I've just done it, and apparently got Question 13 wrong, but I am a bit confused as although I had read all the guides first, I made sure I had them all open, and double checked every answer as I went through the test. If someone who hasn't done the test yet, so can therefore access it, please let me know what Q. 13 was? It's really frustrated me, especially as it was one of the very few that you can go with others, so I would have been able to go with OH and baby! :@
    Thanks =]

eDigital surveys do annoy me sometimes. I sent out 10 emails yesterday morning, and only one reply so far, not eDigital's fault of course, but very annoying.
Moving onto a better place...Ciao

On the egg jobs I notice you now have to take a photograph covertly without people etc in front preferably as they will be used for marketing! I really don't think the fee now reflects the job or is it just me?
No Matter what you do there will be critics.

Photograph ... what photogragh!!!! I can't see anything on my job notes (and I've never taken a photo before). I'm having kittens now thought R/Eyes were the ones who often wanted pictures.

I've just read the egg jobs again and I can't see where it says to take a photograph.

hello, quick qu for those who have recently registered as self-emplyed- how long did it take you from registering to be sent your info through (eg codes, username?) etc? i registered in november and was sent my exemption cert but nothing else.

spent nearly an hour on phone nearly 3 weeks ago trying to sort it out, local office blaming registration line and vis versa, kept telling me to call the other office and eventually a woman said she would re-register me. i still have not been sent anything  i also had to spent over £6 calling them to sort out their error as had to call from my mobile.

i am now absolutely fuming that i still have not been sent anything and there is no way that i am calling them again at my own cost to be fobbed off and told to ring someone else.

i would just like to know if i should have been sent the docs within 3 weeks as if so i am going to make a complaint via the complaints procedure as i cant see it ever being sorted out otherwise as no-one is preparaed to take responsibility for it :(

Ok so i'm biased I work for the tax office....
registering for self employment is very dis-jointed at the moment and theres a backlog of approx 8 weeks to get a UTR number - well there was when I started my part year leave in July, its probably longer now.
When the local office was blaming the registration line this is beacuse we (the local office) have absolutely nothing to do with creating UTR's and commencing Self Employment, we cant speed it up nor can we issue the UTRs, we can confirm them by post to you once they've been issued but nothing else.
Once you have your UTR, eventually, then you'll have to go online with your details and a user code will be sent to you by post within 7 days, this is automatic and will normally take less than 7 days (this side of the whole mess DOES work).
The number you need to call is 0845 915 45 15, if they say that your UTR has been issued then call 0845 9000 444 and ask for a copy of the UTR to be sent to you.
In regards to a complaint, hey by all means, all the complaints show that HMRC, NICO and DWP are significantly understaffed and this will only get worse shortly when more of us lose our jobs. You can only imagine how horrendous our job is at the moment wilth all the complaints, its awful we are abused during near enough every call and are also threatened with physical abuse.

When you've received your exemption cert this has come from NICO (National Insurance Office) not HMRC they are completely seperate entities. I once had it described as follows, yes we're all government bodies but if you had a broken leg you wouldnt go to the eye dept at the hospital!

HTH, if you want any more ifo PM me.

Sorry, I thought an egg was an egg - didn't realise they had different scenarios! I'll relax again - on second thoughts, no I won't, I'll go back to worrying what to do with my TNS coffee shop jobs!!!
