    £235. Ouchies.

Just make sure that if paypal ask you to send it back, you use a courier service that's correctly insured and online proof of delivery.

Are TV's even covered by regular postal services, or even most couriers?

The seller should be refunding you now, not when the claim comes through.

I sometimes venture into the parcel delivery thread and it does seem that TVs are a special category and some couriers won't cover them. I would therefore echo your sentiment and suggest to OP that he starts to look for a courier that will take a TV , so he is prepared.

well for the OP they only need the item delivered
    its condition is unimportant

no restrictions on TV's for RM

however with on damage to the packaging i would expect RM to dismiss the claim

With RM parcels you can pay extra for higher compensation so it is not limited to 41 pounds. However, I agree that their claim is unlikely to succeed - but that's not your problem.

I was just thinking about getting it back to seller. Buyer would need a courier (Or RM) to be bale to prove delivery, but also to insure him for his losses if it gets lost. It would get complicated if the carrier lost the TV but then refused to pay out the buyer as it was not insured.

Op says 1st class Parcel, so if it was 1st class that's £41 or if he really meant standard parcel then your right.

try parcel2go to send it back.. its not too expensive and inform them that the tv is broken already and you should be fine
