  • Wait until you have the second phone, phone them and ask them to send a courier/Parcelforce to collect the phone. That way you're not paying any postage and you will get a receipt to confirm collection. If they won't and want you to post the phone, then ask them to pay for postage first as its not your fault they made a mistake.

Its not quite the same, but I once ordered a TV which came with a stand, the stand was faulty so they said they's send me another. They actually sent me another TV as well as the stand. I spent a month trying to get them to collect the 2nd TV to no avail. In the end, I sent them a letter saying it was unsolicited goods and by law if they didn't collect it, it would be mine (I think they had a month to respond) and never heard from them again. After waiting the required time I sold the TV. You never know, maybe Vodaphone will be as daft!

I would just refuse delivery of the second phone. Thats all you need to do to reject the order.

I enquired about my upgrade date and was told it was 2 days ago, Great what phones have satnav,
They mentioned a few names said phone me back a day or so later and i will have looked them up and
    chosen a phone.

1/2 hour later a text arrives your phones on its way? what phone?

Seems they are sending me a LG something or other without the features i wanted.
Phoned them to be told its on its way already and accept delivery and they will arrange
collection, Less likely to get lost that way.

my friend had the same experience with Bose. he bought an expensive home theatre system from BOSE, via some buy now and pay later scheme. he later paid them when he was supposed to to the tune of 1500£ or so, but the company seemed to have lost records of the sale and refunded his money saying they had billed him by mistake!!! he kept trying to pay them back, but even after umpteencalls trying to explain he had the home theatre system for more than a year and was only paying for that, but the phone help line staff couldnt be bothered as it wasnt on their computer and didnt believe him and insisted on a refund of 1500£ or so pounds. he had left the country by then and i collected his refund cheque which came by mail and sent it to him. some companies can be beyond stupid even when honest customers point out a mistake and pay the money.

I wanted to upgrade to a higher package ... ie spend more money, but vodafone won't let me until my current contract expires. How very odd for a company to turn away money.

    Bizarre but true
