Cheque also received this afternoon ;D
Tried to persuade Orange to put me on to one of their “Square Deal” tariffs but they were having none of it.
In true MoneySaving style I haggled hard with Billing, Customer Relations and Customer Services.
I'm used to winning……...... but not this time. :'(
Chose their 30 minute cross network any time tariff at £15 per month until I discover something better.
Do It To Them Before They Do It To You

I have also called up twice, spoken to the supervisor etc yet no joy. they say that since my handset is not a data enabled one they will not change it .

Yes 0800's are free on high speed data plan, and if orange try saying the HS data plan is not available on my phone, I'll try saying the sim card is in my T610 which is definately compatable.0 -
however, when i called up to change my tariff to the high speed data tariff, they said it was not available.
It was because my handset is not suitable for that and they have stopped offering it to people without the right handset.
When I phoned up the girl asked what phone I had and I said I had an unlocked XDA. She asked if that was HSCSD compatible, and I said yes. Took her a while to find the tariff on her list but no other questions! As payless said you could just tell them you've got a new phone, I shouldn't see a problem with that.

FANFLIPPINTASTIC!
Got cheque today - thanks to whoever it was that suggested this in the first place all those months ago.
I now have a Nokia 3510i, free phone calls for 9 months, 2000 texts over 6 months all for £75 for the whole year.
What would people suggest I move to, and what are the implications of doing this - I still want to use my phone for calls and texts, whilst keeping same tel no. - is this possible whilst changing tariff?
PS - in case you didn't realise I'm quite happy ;DSmile - life's good !0 -
Can anyone advise what you get with the data tarriff to help me decide if it's worth fighting for or if the £15 deal is better for me? Ta0

HSD plan was better for me (advised orange CS that I had a T68i).
Talk 30 might be better for you if 30 mins of free calls per month is worth a fiver a month to you.

I was denied a switch to Orange HS data plan as customer services said I didn't have a compatible handset. They had to ask me what handset I had - I presume they could have found out by other means?
I now merely want to reduce monthly spend to absolute minimum. I have accounts with other networks and calls to other mobiles can be bought for 10p per minute anyway from Telediscount. I should be happy to leave this sim in the drawer from now on.
What do you think my chances are of persuading them that I have a compatible handset?0 -
;D got my cheque 2day ;D was not expecting it without making afuss. ;Dwell happy thanks 2 originator.keeping same tariff til free texts expiresThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
