CPW orange offer phone in DEC 2003.
Hi all,
Remember those who bought a mobile at the end of last year, Orange 3510i on contract through CPW, I believe can now downgrade it to the lower tariff of 30 minutes a month costing £15 after 4 months, rather than £25.
Also awaiting if CPW will return the sum of £225 after 4 month, as promised in the original advert.
Sorry if I got it wrong but would be grateful if anyone can confirm this is correct.
Thank in advance.

This is taken from the CPW Ts + Cs for that offer:A cheque will be sent out after 4 months, customers cannot migrate to a lower tariff within that time. If the customer does migrate to a lower tariff within that time the chequeback offer becomes invalid.
So you can downgrade as soon as the first 4 months are over.
But if you change tariff you lose any remaining texts which were given with the offer (2000 free to use during the first 6 months)0 -
Anyone been able to wangle staying on the same 120 min tarriff but on the deal for new customers ie £15 p. m with 30 free texts?
If so let us know so we can all do it!Mark Hughes' blue and white army0 -
I phoned up CPW HQ a couple of days ago to enquire when cheques would arrive, after being transfered from person to person in different departments.I finally spoke to a lady who assured me that cheques would be sent out early next week.
Any body succeded in getting the new customer only deal as I thought treating existing customer worse than new had been declared illegal after the Halifax BS case where existing mortgage holders were less fairly treated than new customers.Halifax had to stump up lots of money in compensation, this ruling seems to apply across all existing/new contracts.

I also contacted CPW about the cashback and was told to fax the fourth bill to them, and would recieve cashback within 28 days0

So whats going on then? I don't understand. Has anyone other than a very select few special cases recieved their cashback yet? Do we need to send off a bill and wait 28 days? This wasn't what i understood when I signed up for it. Given the huge response this offer got four months ago, i would have expected more people would have something to say about the cashback. ??? ??? ???This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I was told (yesterday- got thro' to some straightaway ) they are getting loads of calls -
cheques would take 28 days , no need to send in any bills.Any posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -
Interested if anyone got a better than standard (example square deal rather than say YP30) swap package from Orange
Can't see why they would offer it , if they have us on a 12m contractAny posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -
I was given an email address Chequebacks@cpw.co.uk, they simply replied that cheque(s) will be sent out within 28 days after the first four months is complete.
So, if you connected on say, 20th December, you should have a cheque by 18th May.0 -
I called into a CPW shop on Monday 26th April and enquired about my £225.00 cashback cheque. Seven phone calls later, their assistant admitted defeat and sent an email to the address Galstonian posted above with a promise to contact me as soon as a response was received. Needless to say, I never received that call.
On Wednesday 28th April, I contacted CPW's sales team who in turn tweaked their system and informed me that a cashback cheque had been actioned on the 26th April, the same day that I made my initial complaint – coincidence? I don’t think so.
It was explained to me that I would need to send them a copy of my contract and
4th Orange bill. Upon receipt the cashback cheque would be released and I should expect to receive it within 7 days. Deja Moo – I’ve heard that Bullsh1t before.
I refused stating that I had a copy of their T&C’s and nowhere does it say that.
My protest fell on deaf/ignorant ears and I was transferred to another “More Senior” representative.
Low and behold I was informed that documentary evidence was not required and that I should expect to receive my cashback cheque within 14 days.
Galstonian has been quoted 28 days. Confusion reigns supreme.
It would now appear that my cashback cheque will be popping through the letterbox sometime in May.
CPW wouldn’t be delaying the production of these cheques in order to maximise the interest earned on our money, would they? Perish the thought.Do It To Them Before They Do It To You
