I would stay calm. I have a friend who had this problem also. The fact that the baby was born two days ago should I would think put your mind at rest. You cant rack up arrears at that rate in two days, also, the Mother must have been filling in the forms to while away the time while she was in labour! My friend went mad at her husband, it turned out to be a massive CSA mess up, but it affected their relationship quite badly for a while, because the husband felt that the wife shouldnt have believed the letter in the first place. Sorry im not much help but good luck in clearing this up quickly.

He did, they wouldn't tell him anything over the phone apparently so he's asked them to send full details in the post, so far we haven't received anything.

The name of the child and the date of birth should be on the letters. We have dealings with Belfast CSA - its one of their main offices.

From other postings about disputed parentage I would say don't pay anything as it seems that as soon as a payment is made the CSA take that as the father has admitted to be the parent.

Some 'friend' if he is unscrupulous enough to use a mate's name when seeing a girl, and still not being honest when she gets pregnant! But if all the CSA deal in is paperwork, and that's the name the Mother has given as far as they are concerned that named person is the father! Even if it turns out not to be the case that the situation is referring to the 'friends' baby it could happen, so maybe your OH needs to talk to his mate about it anyway!
